Thumbs up Toy Story "Toy Box" Trilogy replacement packaging

If any of you out there bought the Toy Story Toy Box for your kids - only to find the discs packed in styrofoam (read: unusable in a kid household due to fingerprints and barbeque sauce getting on the back), know that you can get replacement BLU cases with Artwork (a la Criterion) direct from Disney.

I just mailed my order today, so if you want to wait and see how it works, know that I will post details up.

If you want to order the set of 3 replacement cases yourself (I understand that they will be the retail style cases - and that if you want a slipcover you should specifically ask for it) - Do this:

Send a Check or MO for $11.85 to:

WDSHE - Consumer Relations
Packaging Exchange Program
PO Box 3100
Neenah, WI 54957-3100

Also include a memo - include your name, mailing address, contact phone and email. Also state (again) that this is for Replacement Cases for the Toy Box packaging in Blu-Ray format. When I called in, they didn't give any reference number or seem to enter it into the system so you can very likely just skip that step (I've lost the number anyway).

They told me it would take a couple of weeks to turn it around. We will see.

UPDATE:

Took 10 days from mailing the check until the replacements arrived at the door.

I received the retail version of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 (Both the BluRay + Dvd Combo pack, with interior storage for 3 discs each) and the 4 disc retail version of Toy Story 3 (with storage for all 4 discs).

Slipcovers were included with Toy Story 1 and 2, not for 3.

For that price, you're better off buying double and single cases for the set.

Thank you for the info cagef15.

Just to verify this, Disney has realized that consumers did not like the foam packaging with the Toy Story set, so now you can purchase the cases from them?

Yup for that price you can walk into a Best Buy and pick up 10 2 disc cases, just print artwork off the custom artwork thread.

Its not Disney's fault people didn't wait to see what the inside of the box looked like.

Meh, I don't mind the styrofoam holder. I don't have kids so it's not a problem (although if I did I wouldn't let them near my tox box haha).

Yep that's the deal. Cost include shipping, but as I want the slips this is more cost effective for me.

After seeing that horrid oversized packaging, I just picked up all three on release week. I paid $30 for TS and TS2 with slips ($15 a piece), and $20 minus the coupon for the TS3 combo pack. Beat the hell out of the price for the toy box.

I was able to get Toy Story 1 & 2 for $8 per BD, after DMR coupons, then purchased the Toy Story 3 target exclusive Buzz for $25 after DMR coupon.

I did fight myself for a while wanting the "super mega ultra box set" and gift the first two BDs, but in the end I just bought them all individually. I just had to have that target exclusive!

I can't believe they're trying to make things right by charging you for the replacement cases. Ugh.

To clarify - it's not something they are advertising - it's something I asked for... And wanted to share the info

Ahh! I HAD to have the Target exclusive as well. Really tough to decide between the Toy Box and that. If I can find the Toy Box for a good price, I'll get it, but I'm not that fussed.

I really wish they would offer some sort of standard box to put all 3 in (something like the Pirates of the Caribbean box). They had this in the UK, but we got stuck with that awful toy chest. I was about to order the UK version, but they changed one or two scenes.

I don't know what they were thinking, it was a really stupid idea to begin with. I'll buy it when they re-release the movies in a collection with sensible packaging.

Yeah, you have a point there. You asked, and they accomodated you and wanted you to pay the charge. That's fair enough I suppose.

Thats cool that they were nice enough to offer that for such a cheap price. I was originally going to pick up that set but I opted out due to the packaging. I eventually bought the 1st and 3rd movies and now am waiting on picking up the 2nd.
