Seeing the sequel in theaters was one of the worst experiences of my life. Ate some Chinese food beforehand and it hit me nearly at the beginning of the movie. Considering that it seemed as if there was a fight ever 5 seconds in the movie, I was sure I'd miss something good. So, I toughed it out and sat through the whole movie with my stomach ready to erupt.

Not a good time.

I will go broke on April 19th. I can't wait. I'm getting both regardless of how bad Annihilation is. It is part of my childhood.

Wow!! I remember Mortal Mondays. This year it will be Mortal Tuesday

Is this correct? The new Mortal Kombat 9 and both titles will release on the same day?

THE EARTH WAS CREATED IN 7 DAYS....AND SO IT SHALL BE DESTROYED!

wait what? WTF who the f**k wrote these lines? Why would I wait 7 days to destroy the Earth? Why would I even want to DESTROY the Earth? Couldn't I just take my unstoppable army of centaurs and reptilian ninjas that spit acid and use them to subjugate the human race? This makes no sense! But whatever....SO IT SHALL BE DESTROYED!!

According to a local DVD/CD shop, the current Canadian discs are already OOP. Still available in-stores for a while though, until stock diminishes. However, it is currently unknown whether Warner/New Line will distribute the 2 films now in Canada, & not Alliance.

Examples: US New Line/Warner release of Pleasantville is issued by Alliance in Canada. US New Line/Warner release of Nightmare on Elm St. is also New Line/Warner in Canada.

The first MK movie is still the best video game adaptation ever made (IMO), which is pretty sad when you think about it. Ironically, the sequel is the worst one next to Super Mario Brothers.

Will definitely pick up the first one. The effects will probably looks really bad in HD, but it'll all be worth it to hear the theme in DTS-HD.

Oh god, I shudder to think how the effects in Annihilation would look on Blu-Ray.

So..these releases got me thinking...ok yea the game is getting released at the same time, but why release these movies on blu-ray just because there is a new game?then it hit me, WHAT IF WB wants to see how much buzz and sales the movie creates? maybe they want to see is a new movie would be profitable? And this is their only way of seeing what "definites" fans are out there. What do you guys think?

You're overthinking it. It's this simple: New video game means there might be some interest in buying these movies, so for them, financially, it's the best time to release MK and MK:A on Blu. It's all about the money, plain and simple.
