After a naïve Midwestern girl’s big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of characters.

June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live. It seems her luck has turned around when she gets hired at a coffee shop and finds Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a charming, vivacious roommate... with the morals of a pirate. She swindles June out of all her savings, but she and her snarky friend, James Van Der Beek (playing himself), soon learn that, just because June’s naïve, she isn’t stupid. June ingeniously turns the tables on Chloe, who is so shocked about being scammed herself that she decides to pull June into her colorful band of friends. Sure, it’s all dysfunctional, bizarre and overwhelming, but so is New York City. And with the help of Chloe and the other oddballs around her, June might just learn the survival secrets she needs to make it there.

“Apartment 23” stars Krysten Ritter (“Breaking Bad,” “Gilmore Girls”) as Chloe, Dreama Walker (“The Good Wife,” “Gossip Girl”) as June, Eric André as Mark, Michael Blaiklock as Eli and James Van Der Beek (“Varsity Blues,” “Dawson’s Creek”) as James Van Der Beek.

Created and written by Nahnatchka Kahn (“American Dad”), “Apartment 23” is executive-produced by Kahn, Jason Winer (“Modern Family”), Dave Hemingson (“American Dad,” “How I Met Your Mother”) and Jeff Morton (“Modern Family”). Winer is also the director. “Apartment 23” is a production of 20th Century Fox Television.

Yeah it is lengthy, but who knows they might go with something horribly and only vaguely related to the plot to with such gems as "Midwestern" ; "Optimistic Girl" or maybe even "Apartment 23" or something equally horrible.

James Van Der Beek To Co-Star In Fox's 'B!tch' Comedy Pilot As Himself

In his first major comedy series gig, Dawson's Creek alum James Van Der Beek is set to co-star in the ABC/20th TV comedy pilot Don't Trust the B!tch in Apt. 23. The Nahnatchka Khan/Dave Hemingson project, to be directed by Modern Family's Jason Winer, centers on June (Dreama Walker), an earnest, honest, optimistic girl from the heartland who is forced to move in with Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a sexy, unstable New York City party girl who has the morals of a pirate. Van Der Beek will play Chloe's best friend James Van Der Beek, a heightened version of himself in the vein of Neil Patrick Harris' stint in the Harold & Kumar movies and Matt LaBlanc's starring role on the Showtime comedy Episodes. The role, originally named after and eyed for former 'N Sync singer Lance Bass, is being completely rewritten for Van Der Beek.

Van Der Beek has always been sought after during pilot season. But, following his viral videos for funnyordie.com, for the first time this season, he fielded all comedy offers. On TV, Van Der Beek, repped by Paradigm and Brillstein Entertainment, most recently co-stared on the NBC medical drama Mercy.

He was pretty damned funny on Secret Girlfriend, and he makes a great perv so this was a good casting choice. So far I am happy with every person cast so far. The women are gorgeous and the men are hilarious.

Michael "Mookie" Blaikock (Secret Girlfriend) has joined the ABC/20th TV comedy pilot Don't Trust the B!tch in Apt. 23. Written by Nahnatchka Khan, the project centers on June (Dreama Walker), an earnest, honest, optimistic girl from the heartland who is forced to move in with Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a sexy, unstable New York City party girl who has the morals of a pirate. Blaikock, repped by Innovative and Andy Corren Management, will play Eli, the preppy perv-next-door.

Cool will have to check this out and can't wait to see James in it as I haven't seen anything he has done post Dawson besides the 2 part Criminal Minds he was on.

He was hilarious in the episode he did of HIMYM and I love his viral videos, he is actually pretty damn funny in comedic roles so I think that is definitely where he could find some momentum in the industry again.

Oh well if I don't have a timer for it, I don't watch it. I rely on my DVR to weed out things I don't like and don't ever want to see. My DVR is a prude like that.

I wasn't very impressed by the one minute clip I just watched, but it was amusing to see JVDB play himself and all the girls hooking up with him were fixed on his past characters Dawson Leery and John Moxon. I will wait to see the full trailer released before I make my decision.

Same here I loved JVB's short parts in this trailer but need to see more before I make up my mind as it didn't really show anything.
