With highspeed internet coming into the house with my ISP/Cable provider, you are able to split the signal before going to your router or pc and run the coax cable to a tv set as well, giving you basic cable. If your tv has a built in tuner it may work, or you may need to purchase the cable box your provider uses. I dont do this as I have premium packages and whatnot for my cable but have been told this works as the basic cable is always already there, its just the upgraded package channels that need to be "turned on".
thanks! i'll look in to it.

You didn't hear that from me though." It would be a cold day in Hell when I gave money to Comcast again, I just find them to be a horrible company that cares more about quantity than quality.
Yep when I gamed on computers back in the early 00's I spent HOURS on the phone with different people (only for them to finally come out and say "oh you need a booster because the house is so far away from where the lines are" )

Also my mom who still has them has issues again (needing them to get another kind of booster) where the connection would work like half the day then stop for hours on end then work and stop exc. exc.
