Me too, I'd be making much more than I am now. I used to work at a different/non-national electronics store that did pay on commission and made great money there. But I can't complain too much, they give us good discounts and college is what I stay focused on anyway.

So he insists that its HD-DVD exlcusive and that its not on BD. So i told him ok get me the HD-DVD one (i dont have an HD-DVD player) he comes back and says he cant find it. I ask another rep to check on the computer because i was really tried of this jerk. He says yeah it says we have 27 in stock let me go get it for you. So he brings me the movie and ask to speak to the manager. I Explained to him what had happend and he was very upset. He gave me 15% off the the movie which i was already price matchin with target for 27.95. What a bad experiance!

So you got Best Buy to break street. You know you can get them hit a nice pretty couple thousand dollar fine now.

[ add / edit ]
Nice, as a chain they released it early, wonder why they did it when everyone else is stuck with the 23rd release date. Oh well.

i had a somewhat similar situation, where a best buy employee tried to convince me that sony is behind HDDVD, and they are exclusive to the format. I asked to show me one sony HDDVD movie, he said ok. he came back he said they were out, and i happened to stand by the BD section, and i said, you do know that underworld is sony, but its on BD. he said no its not sony its WB. Soon i gave up talking to the idiot, since i was losing brain cells talking to a brick of wall. I just left the store and haven't shopped there since.

Actually, according to Bestbuy.com the release date for Rush Hour 3 was Thursday, 12-20-07. They must have moved it up so people can buy it as Christmas present.

Ya, noticed that, just bizarre. Friday was when most studios bumped their release dates to, but Hastings at least still had it on the Sunday day map when I was there earlier.

Oh well. Not surprising. Sunday was a BAD IDEA.

It sounds like the worker knew what he was doing - lying and manipulating to get people to buy into his dying format.

I'm surprise you didn't grab the Underworld Blu-ray and show him it was Sony or ask him to find the Sony HD-DVD Player and then show him the Sony Blu-ray Player. You could have also ask then why is Sony putting a Blu-ray Player in their PS3 if they're HD-DVD exclusive.

I also had a bad experience but at a futureshop.

I ask a futureshop employee if they had lost 3 on blu-ray, because I could not find it in the blu-ray section. So he called someone responsible for the DVD departement and told me they didn't got it. I tought they just hadn't receive it so I went for the exit and what do I saw? 7 copies of Lost 3 on blu-ray (it was not on the B-R section) but in weird shelve near the exit.

I saw Rush Hour 3 at Best Buy yesterday when I was shopping for Halloween Unrated. They wanted $34.99 for it. NO WAY. Found it at Walmart for $29.99. Why should I bother price matching when they should have a low price to begin with??
