Well it may be crap it may not be but it is still very interesting to fans and I'm sure it'll look very nice on the shelf.

I have lots of strange boxsets myself and I know if I want something I'll buy it. I like these editions because they celebrate the movie -which we all want for our favourite movies.

Play.com must have paid a pretty penny for the rights to release this edition and those rights will be in another country too I'm sure. Australia perhaps. I don't see anything yet.

Yeah, -for UK residents at least- Play.com prepay any duty/VAT. I think a lot of their bigger items are re-shipped from within the EU now anyway to save costs.

another "plus" for the LE set except from the fact that the sets are already slipcased, is that it doesnt contain the 3D version which would be useless to me

I'm glad they've tweaked the box a bit. The opening looked like something in a newsagents full of lollies and not fitting a Blu-ray exclusive. Still seems expensive, if this was £35 (RRP £50) I think I would be tempted as you'd get value for money. Do the items just go in the box?

This edition is £52 dearer than the next priciest edition(s) demiscy. I'm baffled as to why you're (seemingly) happy to pay (an awful lot!) more for a product, (seemingly) because you're being given less!?

3D may well be crap, but Tron: Legacy was filmed (natively) in 3D; so if BV/Play are charging a premium price (£70 is a lot of money, right?) for what BV/Play perceive to be a premium product, then shouldn't BV/Play bloody well be providing that crappy 3D version of Tron: Legacy as part of that premium package?

I have no idea i think it has some kind of compartment where you put the items, each compartment for each item, like the Inglorious Basters box.

From the pictures it looks like an (ungainly) cubical storage bin that you simply plop the the contents into, just so that you can later retrieve them lucky dip styleee.

I'm getting an extremely strong urge to buy the 5 disc US identity disc set now as well

And I've been reading the reviews of Tron Legacy and I can't believe that it got less than favourable reviews, I absolutely loved it.

It will look good on the shelve and no other edition gives the extras this one does.

People keep complaining but at the end they end up buying the Play.com exclusive. Indead is expensive but Avatar Extended Play.com was 99£ and it was even worse in terms of goodies and it didn't prevent people from buying it.
And not to forget the Back to the Future UK Tin.. As soon as it goes OOP everyone criesanic and search for it..

All same story... complain about how bad it is but end up buying..

Indead it can't consider a premium edition without a 3D disc.. not forgiven!

Very true words. Sometimes I wonder whether they genuinely want the item because they like it, or just because they want the thrill of owning something limited, and soon to be rare, and hard and expensive to get afterwards.

This is yet another example of different special editions being offered to different regions. I hate it! Just make one really special collecters set and sell it globally, what's the problem with that?

But of course, the studios know that the die hard collector will feel the need to buy all of them! Grrrrrrr.

The US set is sooo much better than the box being offered to the EU

The one collectors edition I wish I'd forked out for was the T2 Chrome Skull. You can still get the T4 Skull edition, but that chrome one looked great.

Ah, but Play.com pay VERY highly for those limited rights just like other companies. It brings them custom and word of mouth. Any retailer (with money in the bank) can buy these exclusive sets but they're not going to be cheap.

Still available in lots of places including Germany http://www.amazon.de/dp/B001TCOQEY Mine came from there. Every country has different amount of discs (USA has most) but the bust is the same. And very nice it is too.
