Default Things are about to get "Lethal" in 2012

from thedigitalbits (edited down to reflect the Lethal Weapon series)

http://thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents

Warner Home Video has just informed us that ALL FOUR FILMS in the Lethal Weapon series are about to go on Blu-ray and DVD moratorium (starting on 3/28). Why, you may ask? Simple: The studio has big plans for the films in 2012, as Lethal Weapon celebrates its 25th anniversary. What this means is that you can expect all of these films to be fully remastered and re-released on Blu-ray and DVD in brand new Ultimate Collector's Editions, complete with new extras.

About time! Sucks it won't be until next year, though!

I am not paying more than $40 for this set. $10 per film is fairly priced.

They're going to re-master these films for an anniversary release, but Goodfellas wasn't good enough for its 20th?

Exactly. Import it now. They did the same with the Goonies.

I just imported it from the UK for $25 so I'm not going to rebuy it. I almost guarantee it'll be the same transfer as the ones from the UK, just like The Goonies wasn't remastered either when they released it stateside for us.

More info just in...

Although the set will comprise of Blu-ray discs, WB will only be porting the original SD transfers, though all will come with pro-logic 5.1 sound. LETHAL WEAPONS 2,3 and 4 will be available in separate digibook editions but those who want LETHAL WEAPON will have to buy the digibook boxset, retailing at $199.99, and including various gift items such as a special "LETHAL WEAPON" breathalyser, Klan hood and facsimiles of Mel Gibson's rap sheet.

Talking Lethal Weapon: Ultimate Collector's Editions for 2012

Came across this. According to what's being reported by The Digital Bits:

Looks like we'll have to wait another whole year before we see these movies re-released (or released) to Blu-ray.

Probably. But, who cares? I know I'll be reserving my copy. Just after I get my copy of Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

It might very be for me too ... if it's an enhanced version with remastered video.
