The packaging looked like a fancy digipack sort of thing to me, but I might be wrong...

Yeah it is, I found a video of it on YouTube. I don't mind single film being in a digipack, but I don't like 3 films lumped together.

Just bought the special edition single.

Do all of them say 'The Guillermo Del Toro Collection' at the top on the disc? Seems a bit weird if it's a single disc.

Also noticed it's spelled Pan's on the disc (like the thread title )

Which is correct. It's an apostrophe of ownership, it's fine.

I don't believe there is a UK release with a dub (is there one anywhere?) If you look up the details of each release on here they only have Spanish soundtracks.

I see what you mean the SE product description on Amazon says.
Language : Spanish
Subtitles : English
Dubbed : English

However I also don't recollect a dub it definitely plays by default in Spanish with English subtitles. My copy is in storage so can't check.

I bought this reissue as it has lossless audio. The original Optimum release in the UK only had the same lossy Dolby Digital track as the DVD.

Could there have been a rental version possibly DVD with a dub as you do so those occasionally for non English language films. Otherwise it's just a case yet again of the Amazon product description talking rubbish.

How sad for you, you're missing out on countless great films out there.

I'm pretty sure Amazon is lying yet again. I don't believe English dubs even exist for this and Devil's Backbone.

Anyhow, why miss out on a great film just because it's not in a language you speak?

90% sure it is region B locked as says Region B on the case and that tends to always be true for Optimum titles. Haven't personally tested it, mind.
