Killzone 3

I just found one of our extra ps3's covered in dirt and crap and obviously been mistreated by younger family members , needless to say I rescued it and have decided to hook it to our 82 inch tv to see what this game looks like on it


Lmao the system hadn't been used since the Gran Turismo free game that came out in 2007

so its updating now probably will go buy a sharpshooter, move, controller, controller charger wire(as the one i found was COVERED in dirt... which I'm not sure how that happens ), and another copy of killzone 3

Does anyone else's menu flicker like crazy? I just finally got it all setup and on my tv it never flickers at all but on this ps3 the menu goes nuts, doesn't do it during the intro video, or on the home screen. Just when I get to the menu's

Ummm, I think it's supposed to do that. It always has that flicker/glitchy effect during the menus. Is that what you're talking about?

I mean I see it flicker like in a group game when everyone's talking, but this was noticeably flickering right off the bat from even the KILLZONE 3 press start screen it was just constantly flickering. Think I'm going to pick up a new hdmi cable see if that does the trick.


*fixed it! It was the uber crappy hdmi cable I used that came with the 3d converter kit. I just got a dynex cheap one and it was normal .

Actually a game that looks good on the 82''.

I just finished the game. It was enjoyable as hell.

But make no mistake this game was rushed. It felt like major sequences were left out and the story was just all over the place.

Instead of one full experience it felt like a collection of action scenes thrown together.

Still it was fun and I guess thats all that matters.

Yeah agreed. It was laughably bad. Sad. WHat makes it worse is that Guerilla said in interviews that they were working hard to give the game a much better story. I can't think of a bigger example of an epic fail.

I was really hoping they would step the quality up and that it would live up to its name as a Halo-killer. It has Halo Reach beat in graphics and equal in gameplay.

Having said ALL of that great gameplay can compensate for a bad story. The opposite is rarely true. A great and engaging story can enable you to make it through mediocre-to-ok gameplay. Mass Effect 1 is an example.

lol I just set up an account on our other tv for online, the highway map I got put on the crap team of course. So they all couldn't get out of spawn on warzone so there was this one guy who wouldn't stop trying to get on the emplacements on that one side of the highway 22 of my 30 kills were from him I went 30 and 4 cause why would I leave spawn if were just getting destroyed and nobodies doing any of the objectives.

Has anyone else noticed that some stats might not be recording correctly? So far I haven't gotten a single "cloaked kill", even though I have almost 200 kills as a marksman...I'm absolutely sure I've killed an enemy (many actually) while cloaked, both melee and with the sniper rifle.

I've also never gotten the faster reload ribbon yet...that one could be legit, but I used to get it pretty much every round in the beta.

So far the campaign feels a bit odd. I agree that it feels rushed. So far it's not near the quality of Killzone 2. That said it is fun though.

I've only played 2 games so far online but it sure is fun. Is it just because I'm only rank 3 but can I only revive one player per life as a medic?

The revive ability takes a while to recharge. When you can use it again the icon in the bottom left corner lights up.
When you use the ability to revive yourself (must be unlocked) you can only use it once per life.

Nah mine seem fine bud... I'm almost at 300 of 500 for my cloak.

I haven't gotten the trophy for killing anther player while cloaked either. So I have no idea what's going on there...maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

Any tips there?

It can or can't compensate? I'm not sure if that was a typo or not.

As soon as the reviews were coming in, I kind of waved the single player goodbye. The story was even worse than most CoD's. At least those don't have crazy deus ex machina's for endings.
