It's amazing how narrow minded some people are.people tend to hear what they want. So "inception" will be in 3D. Some people think it's their film and the industry is ruining it. Bottom line is that it's neither yours or mine. Everyone should be able to provide thoughts without someone trying to insult you be ause you like a different format of the movie.

Most people in these forums actually believe in the intent of the director, and since Nolan never intended the film to be 3D and is not supervising the conversion, that is why they object to the process.

I wonder if this film will lead to new DGA rules where director's will be given the option to have their name removed for "Alan Smithee" if a studio converts a film to 3D without their consent.

the movie always belong the the studio or studios. So if they want 3D they can get it. Director is only boss while the movie is made.

He's rarely the boss then, even if he does have rights to decideing the final cut I doubt that would include whether it could be converted to 3d.

If Warner Bros. wants to keep Christopher Nolan happy, which I believe they do given the upcoming Batman and Superman projects, they will leave Inception in 2D, as Nolan intended.

However, I have never mistaken Warner Bros. for being smart, so they will probably push to convert Inception for a re-release.

Where does the belief come from that Nolan is so opposed to 3D that he would break from Warner Bros? Nolan did tests for Inception in 3D but didn't feel like he had the time. While I wouldn't classify Nolan as a 3D fan his position on 3D seems more like indifference rather then hatred. Nolans attitude seems to be eh whatever when it comes to 3D. I hope over time he will become more of a fan as I would love to see more of his masterpeices in the 3rd dimension.
