Worst ice covered roads I've ever driven on this morning. It took me an extra hour to get to work. I'm still plan on leaving at the usual time though

I need some tea, I've got a sore throat this morning Not to sterotype, but luckily I work with one woman from Thailand and another from China. They always have tea with them.

I'm bored out of my mind, so I'm sitting here constantly refreshing the forums looking for something to entertain me. Why I don't instead just walk away from the computer and do the various necessary and productive tasks I have available to me, I don't know.

I'm going to be so really bored. I demand entertainment. Dance monkeys, dance.

Way to lead through example, Benny, for a moment there I thought you'd say with those 3 people off that you were in charge.

I envy you. I have still mountains of things to do every day whether every attorney is here or not. Good thing is on typical days, as long as I'm on top of my stuff and don't have depositions, mediations, hearings, etc., I can knock off early.

yeah, as long as i finish the work i take in the morning, i'm good to go. i'm sure he'll be checking how much work i closed while he was gone.

today for example, i'll close out 8-9 pieces of work which is pretty typical for a friday.

I came home last night to find my apartment in shambles.

I knew there was to be repair work done throughout the complex after all the roof/water/snow damage, but I atleast thought I'd be home to coordinate the rearrangement of all my furnishings. Instead, the teams just stuffed things whereever, forcing to climb and contort just to get at basic needs. 2 parts of the unit near the windows have been sectioned off for new walls and ceilings to be built into.

As it is, I can't play video games and can only sort-of watch TV shows. My home internet's too hard to use b/c the repairs keep me from getting at the cable outlet. Cooking is harder since the kitchen entry has a big living room chair in it. Getting items from the closet requires climbing over a stack of chairs and boxes.

I even heard this could be the state of things for several weeks.

I did hear today there's likely gonna be a rent credit afterwards.

Boss hasn't been in the last 3 days, I was unaware of this until 10mins ago. Hardly ever see him when he is IN... Secretly I have been put in charge Last to know about this.

Man he is going to be pissed when I am offered the job I'm interviewing for next week.

Looking for advice, OR some funny stories/not so funny stories on how your boss handled the news of you leaving.

The last time I quit a job in 2009, my boss was kind enough to cut my hours in half my last two weeks, further cementing my belief that leaving that job was the right thing to do. Not sure how I would handle it but I would find a polite way to let him know you're looking, would be kind of rude to just give them a 2 weeks notice if you've been there for a while.

when i was planning on quitting best buy, a co worker let slip that i was leaving before i put my 2 week notice in.

my sup @ the time was pissing him off and he snapped and said something like "just wait until ben quits next week!!"

he said his jaw dropped and had this dumb founded look on his face.

didn't matter to me, i was already quitting and had already been hired.

I think I'm going to have chicken stir fry for dinner, just not sure what kind of food to put the chicken and the vegetables on that would be good for diabetics, something to discuss with the guy who will help me cook the food, I imagine. I don't miss beer since I never really liked it, I do miss normal soda though.

I'm in a retro prog rock mood today. So I've already gone through some King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Genesis and now Mike Oldfield. Up next is a great Canadian/Quebecois band called Harmonium, and then some Fori-Seguin.

The copyright is for "Live Life! Leave A Legacy!"....not the picture.

Ah dinner! I decided to make a Mild Italian Sausage pasta sauce, that I'll strengthen with chili flakes, and of course include onion, garlic, mushrooms, some red peppers (can't go greeen as they don't agree with me), plenty of spices and served over some fettucini! Forgot to get proper buns, so I'll do some garlic toast as a side.

So I found out that the cabin that I've devoted so much energy to for renting has no DSL or cable internet access.

Oh well, such is life.
