Default My Dad bought Guitar Hero III

Yep, my Dad (who is 61) bought Guitar Hero III for the PS2! I was visiting my parents for Christmas and took my little PS2 with me to keep me entertained when I had nothing to do (notched up 70+ hours on Final Fantasy XII), when one day my Dad says he wants to get Guitar Hero III, yeah yeah I thought, then one day I mentioned Blockbusters might have it jokingly. Next thing he goes in and buys it! This is not as a present but for himself Thing is he doesn't have a PS2, but luckily I have both a fat and a thin PS2 so I've given him the fat one. I guess this proves that you're never too old to get into gaming

Having never played any of these games before I thought I'd check it out, and unlocked some songs for my Dad to practice with while I was at it. It was enjoyable but I found it way too hard on the most difficult setting, I was all over the place and barely hit the right notes.

Yah, Guitar Hero takes some practice. I got Guitar Hero 2, 3 and Rock Band all on the same day. I am using Guitar Hero 3 tho and slowly getting better. Ive unlocked 21 of the 42 songs in the main game on normal difficulty. Ive never played a guitar game before getting these.

The Gutiar Hero games are addictive. Once you beat it on easy you want to go back and keep getting better.

hahah that episode is a slap in the face to everyone who plays. I play A LOT of guitar hero. I think myself as pretty decent. I beat GH on expert, GH2 I can't beat the Megadeath song on expert , GH3 I can't beat the devil on hard , and i'm working on rock band on expert, there's a couple songs on the last phase that are giving me some trouble. the drums though, forget about it, I can't even beat it on medium.

I've been playing guitar most of my life...about 16 years now. When I first was introduced to guitar hero about a year ago I thought the concept was going to be lame, that the gameplay would be both insulting and so far fetched that I'd never enjoy it.

Then I sat down and played it for about an hour. Next day I took a wrong turn on my way home and somehow ended up in the parking lot at Best Buy. And somehow GH2 ended up in my car when I left.

Now I'm an expert mode junkie and I play for gold stars. There's just no going back. When I get tired of shredding on a real guitar, I flick on the PS and start shredding in game. It's just so damn addictive.

I haven't seen that episode, but I'm pretty sure South Park has slapped pretty much everybody at some point.

I've got Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band for PS3 and GH1&2 for PS2. I love these games. I've beaten 1 & 2 on expert and I'm stuck on "Before I Forget" on expert in GH3. That part where it alternates between GY/RB/YO is killing me. I'm working my way through Rock Band . . . I wish the strum bar on the Rock Band guitar had that same "click" that the GH3 on has. The RB one feels really sloppy, like it's broken. Otherwise I like the RB guitar a lot better. The buttons on the upper frets are awesome when you're jamming out on the solos.

My parents came over for Christmas and wanted me to demo Rock Band for them . . . my mom thought it was pretty cool.

I just got GH 3 for christmas as well...I love it, and I actually thought the south park episode was funny too (they riff on everybody and everything). Only one thing bothers me though - where the heck are the separate guitar controllers for sale? It makes absolutely no sense to me not to have the separate guitars available for sale at chistmastime. Dies anybody have aqny clue as to when this may be happening? Would love for the wife and myself to be able to play against each other with two guitars, but I don't want to have to pay another 100 bucks for the game-guitar pack just to be able to do so.

You'll have to wait until January, since you can't buy them yet. Don't ask my why... it's stupid. I'm just hoping the delay is so that they can release the guitars with bluetooth. The USB dongle sucks, period.

The only way to get a 2nd controller at this point is to buy a 2nd copy of the game.

How anyone can do expert mode is beyond me. Purely amazing. I can barely do medium.
