2 Different Beetlejuices? Confused Here - Blu-ray Forum

Was at Best Buy and picked up Beetlejuice and noticed that the tops and the pics of the Blu's were different.. The Deluxe cover that is different I circled in red.. Yes I know one says Deluxe and the other one doesn't.. They were on Sale at Best Buy for $14.99 so I can return one if need be.. I've included a pic below, sorry it's so big.. Please advise what the difference is on each blu if possible.. Thanks!

well, one has to include the soundtrack sampler inside. unless that was a different edition altogether, making the total of 3 different editions

edit: yes I was right. just checked mine: the version with people walking to the house is the deluxe version with soundtrack sampler + booklet and it SHOULD have had a slip!

In a word, nothing....

If I'm not mistaken, the "Deluxe" version was the one w/ the lenticular slip cover. My guess is someone swiped the slip from that deluxe edition. Other than the slip, there's no difference in PQ/AQ/features.

EDIT: The deluxe version came w/ a CD sampler and a booklet (as above poster stated), so while that pictured copy is missing its slip (it's one of the rarest slips), the CD and booklet may still be intact. If they're the same price and you want to add it to your collection, may as well go w/ the "Deluxe" one.

Thanks .. Netiher the deluxe or plain had NO soundtrack sampler, booklet, and no slip! .. I guess I got ripped then!.. Looks like i'll be returning both then, not sure then either worth a $14.99 price tag (hmm).. Best Buy had 4 of them (2 deulxe, 2 Non Deluxe) and None of them had any of this.. Argh!

I have the version with them walking toward the house and its just the blu ray. I bought mine when it was first released. No soundtrack, slip cover or booklet.

I bought it 2 years ago at Best Buy. It came with a slipcover, the booklet & the CD sampler and it has the people in front of the house. I just bought it because I hadn't seen the movie in years and loved it when I was younger. Little did I know how rare this slipcover would become, lol.

And on a side note it was on sale for $14.99 as well then.

Here in the UK, the geniuses at Warner mention the soundtrack sampler on the sleeve, but we got jack sh!t.

I have the one with the people on the path, but mine came 'without' the slipcase.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe...

The first run of the deluxe edition came with a lenticular slip and it was a pretty limited run. After those are sold out they still ship the same exact version, it just doesn't come with a slip. I picked it up on release day and got the slip but haven't seen one in store since.

you're correct. liek with all releases with a slip... once the first pressing runs out hte slips run out as well
