Ah, but that's a personal versus business issue. Doing something that endangers someone else is illegal.

In a way they are doing the studios a BIG favour. It allows all the bugs to be shaken out of the system.

If muslix64 had kept quiet, and been primary a pirate, he could have leaked the movies all over the place indefinitely and the studios would have no idea what security breach they had. And so couldn't have fixed it.

Nothing lights a fire under people more than a crisis. And it's just movies here we're talking about.

Basically, it comes down to whether you believe in "security through obscurity" or not.
