Can I swap Blu-rays at Walmart? - Blu-ray Forum

I basically wanna take a blu-ray movie and exchange it for the DVD version. I know I know

"Are you on crack?", No im just getting the DVD version for my mom because she doesnt have a Blu-ray player and there is no way in hell im gonna take my PS3 out of my room lol

Im not made of money and plus she doesnt have a HDTV, she thinks its still a great gift

I work in a retail store, and i know for us, whatever movies we don't sell we send them back to the suppliers and get full money back.

Your good as long as its sealed. I just did it today at Best Buy. No hassel and no questions asked as long as its still sealed. I had and extra POTC at WE from Amazon. Exchanged it straight across for The Host.

I did this recently at Walmart. They took my driver's liscense and plugged in my ID #. Do they track whenever someone does that? So if I were to do it again, could I get in trouble?

Bought my mom her own 40gig PS3 for the den and a Blu-Ray reader/write equipped computer for her office. So, she has blu here and there for all her entertainment purposes!

Swapped 3 out of 4 movies I'd received as dupes at Best Buy today. The only one that wouldn't work was the one I'd thrown in there hoping to sneak it under their radar. It was my 3rd copy of Spiderman 3 that we'd gotten with the wife's new PS3. Guess I'll give it to a friend who doesn't have a blu-ray player but wants one. Here's to hoping that pushes him over the edge.

This may not be ethical so try Wall-Mart. They are far from ethical any way. So it sounds like a good idea. Remeber two wrongs don't make a right but 3 lefts do.

Go and tell them you already own the titles, and you would like to swap them.

If you're doing just an exchange you should be able to take it to whatever retailer you want that sells the same product. It's only when you're returning items for money that retailers are a bit more guarded.
