Disney isn't the studio they used to be that's for sure.
Walt probably has permanent brain damage from rolling over in his grave so many times due to all the mindless dreck Disney has put out over the last 4 years.

Bolt. Tangled. The Princess and the Frog. Tron Legacy. Prince of Persia. The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Meet the Robinson's. Up. Toy Story 3. Ratatouille. Wall-e. National Treasure.

Not nearly as bad as your making it out to be. Seriously, Disney is getting back to what it used to be ever since they got rid of Eisner. It takes time to fix everything he broke...

Taking out Pixar films I don't see any on that list I'd call classic Disney. Tangled is excluded because I haven't seen it (I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that it's more like classic Disney films and less like Dreamworks shit that most CG animated films seem to be)

It's much better than some of the other stuff they've released, and I've honestly been enjoying what Disney has been putting out. The Pirates series as well. Honestly, they've gone back to making fun, adventurous movies for families. That was one of Walt's things. And all those movies did that. Eisner practically killed the studio with all the crappy DTV sequels to their movies...I'm glad, for the most part, those have stopped.

I didn't though in itself is a bad film or really offensive. I do see some criticism on the function of sex segregation, commonly applied in schools and even colleges of pre-civil rights era. It is actually an engaging and meaningful film when it puts focus on it's story. I just find that it puts too much gimmicktry in it's running time, which would have made a better half hour TV movie. It ultimately ruins the experience. If I were to watch it again, I certainly won't watch it again in 3D.

yeah Disney purchased Pixar.
smartest move they have made in the last 20 years for sure.
but I'm not giving Disney credit for that studio because it was an independent entity before being absorbed into the Disney empire.
and I'm not saying Disney hasn't released some good films, BUT mostly they have released total crap over the past 4 years.
that's just a fact imo.

Those two things don't mix...It's either a fact or an opinion. I still say they're output was worse in the late 90s and early 2000s when Eisner had gone power crazy and almost ran the parks into oblivion while making sequels to every Disney movie ever. Sure, things like G-Force and Beverly Hills Chihuahua aren't great...But you know, some kids seem to love it so it means its doing its job.

But there is definitely a tide turning, with Disney killing Yellow Submarine, Wild Hogs 2, and trying to focus more on things like Lone Ranger and hand drawn animation. They're getting their act back together, and it's all coming together I think. They're output is probably about 65% solid at the moment, if they can get that up to 80 or 90%, that would be even better.

You really think G-Force is great?

I thought it was a very weak family movie and one where only the children could enjoy it whilst the adults just cringed wishing for it to end.

George Lucas created the Pixar computer software, then Steve Jobs/Apple bought it and formed the studio. There, not complicated is it.

You are exactly right. I have tried to make this point for years. Not every movie is made for "us".

Really I don't know how much credit (if any) Apple deserves for Pixar's success. When Jobs bought Pixar he wasn't working at Apple and he didn't return to Apple until after the release of Toy Story.

But he was pouring money when needed. It would be hard for them to have hits if they didn't have the funds to do it.

What does that have to do with Apple though? Does Apple deserve credit because Jobs' money came thanks to Apple's success (which came thanks to Jobs leadership)?

that's like saying Pixar=Nokia because they used Nokia software to redesign their software user interface :P

or was that dreamworks.... can't remember

as for the movie the name and idea looked stupid to me, although the animation looked pretty good... but my cousin of all people thought the trailer looked good and wants to see it
