its turning into Heroes IMO (though I enjoyed the latter series of Heroes more than the first)

same here.. maybe if it ever airs on BBC America (it hasn't, has it?) they'll release Blu-rays here.. even though they'll be ridonkulously expensive..

i still don't understand why UK is region B, but Japan is region A, you'd think all English speaking things would be region A.. but whatever

That's actually why the US and the UK are in different regions. The region lock is there to prevent you from importing a movie from another region before it's been officially released in your region. With Japan there's a built-in language barrier so that's less of a worry.

the problem with their logic on that is that the US gets it first anyway, and might even be region free to begin with. and some movies/tv shows are never released in both. with Japan, they might speak a different language but the blu-ray will most likely have an English track unless the film itself is in Japanese

maybe BBC America will air it so the US can get a release (even if it's "volume 1" with both seasons together

Can anyone confirm that this will play on U.S. Blu-Ray players (PS3)? The price has dropped quite a bit to ~$30 and I'd love to import it.

Did anyone buy it? How's the PQ, packaging, extras, etc?

YEah, same here. Hoping for Skins on Blu-Ray, especially Season 1 & 2. Maybe in the build up for the Skins movie?

I second (or third) the question: is this region locked or region free? Thanks!

I believe it's region free. There's no region code listed, and it played on my Oppo player in both region A and B. I have the box set which has the individual releases inside a sturdy cardboard slipbox.

BTW this is 1080i and the only audio track is DD 2.0. I haven't had a chance to sit down and watch any of it yet, I was just testing the region.

I wish someone could find out if this was region free for sure. Was hoping someone would have tested it on a US PS3 by now.

I'd take your word plabey if you hadnt of used "I believe" makes me nervous that it might not work hah. Looking for 100% confirmation.

The above poster did say it played in both region A and B so at the very least it is encoded for region A and B players. He just wasn't sure it was 'region free' because he hadn't tested it in region C though, I guess, but being in the US you don't really need that confirmation.

However, if its in 1080i it may be in 1080i50, the European broadcast standard. BDs encoded with that frame rate won't work in US PS3s (or most US players) regardless of whether the discs are region free or not. Unfortunately I don't have this BD so I can't check that for you...

Just read that Robert Sheehan (Nathan) won't be returning for the third series - he was easily the best character.

You're right about that, I'm not sure he can be replaced easily.

If this is true then I'll probably give 3rd series a miss, he steals every scene he's in.

I believe Misfits Series 1 and 2 are both encoded in 1080i50 (the packaging only states 1080i). I just received the BDs today, and except for the initial Channel 4 intro that lasts a few seconds, the BDs do not work in my US PS3.

Maybe an old thread, but I have to say for the record. This is the best TV show I have ever seen in my life. I absolutely love this show. Season 2 was awesome, yes episode 5 or 6 was wack, but the last episode was actually good, and a good way to start off season 3. I would love to get this on Blu-Ray......damn Region locks stuff.

MKV Downloads, and a flash drive will just have to do for now.

The Misfits BDs are not region locked. They are, however, 1080/50i. See https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-pl...atibility.html for a list of players that can handle 1080/50i.

I had to register and let everyone know because I was wanting the same info.

I just received my Misfits season 1&2 Blu-ray. I ordered it at amazon UK. Great buy alot less than the USA. Check it out. Hope it is appropriate to give that kind of info with no prices. Shipping to the states was a week.

Does not work in my PS3. BUT does work in my Samsung BD C5500. So exciting since it was all youtube before. I hope this helps someone.

So thanks to the pnfisher for posting the listing of the 1080/50i stuff, because I dont understand any of that but can tell you I have misfits on blu-ray on my tv.
