Played online for the first time in nearly two weeks; how rusty was I!!! Took a few games to get back into it and I did ok, but not amazing.

I used the one click join a friend option and it worked perfectly, though I did end up on a map I'm not used to and got picked off regualarly by snipers (the boulevard level). But this enabled me to pick up the squad trophy

I should be on again tonight for a bit around 8 maybe. I was up till midnight and up this morning at 6, but I can't admit to being tired; not when Chris Moyles has been at work for over 25 hours so far!

Sorry I only had the one game with you last night but I wanted to catch up with the Champions League Football highlights. I'll try and get on again tonight.

That boulevard level is a snipers paradise, I wasn't too keen.

It underlined how some players will ignore the game being played and just snipe at their oppositions exit points to rack up some easy kills. I guess that what the sniper is for, but it gets irritating very quickly. That map seems to have been specifically designed with snipers in mind.

No kidding...How you can be killed by a sniper so easily while running is beyond me. I can't stay inside, sometimes you have to go across the street because it's where the objective is.

I can hit the exo suit guys in the head from across the map through those side holes and the front (so much so that the other team usually stops using the exos because I kill them so quickly), so even the guys with unlimited sprint aren't hard to get once you get your tracking down and the lead on the reticle the game needs to drop the guy. Just practice (and skill I guess )

I don't doubt it. But the thing is I went through the sniper level on my Elite playthrough yesterday, and it shouldn't have been that easy for someone like me. I mean 1 shot, 1 kill all the time, even though I was aiming all over the place.

My point is I think it's easier to snipe in Killzone 3.

haven't played online in 2 weeks. i got a move + sharpshooter...and i've been practicing with bots on elite...trying to get the sharpshooter down. i don't want my k/d to suffer because of that thing. i'm just not that good with it....at least when people are rushing you and it gets all intense when you dance around stuck in a reload or trying to melee. i end up looking at the sky or ground. so i haven't gone online till i get it down. i can definitely pull of head shots much easier with it...but those fast pace rushes...that gives me problems. but it gives it a different feel. if i'm camping out...sharpshooter is awesome. rushing opposition...i haven't got that down yet. like my infiltrator class.

Yeah, it is easier then 2 because the scope doesn't move when you don't keep your hand steady

That sucks; that was one of the best implementations of the Sixaxis out there.

What a disappointment today. I hopped on for the first time since the patch and what a laggy disappointment today. It is not my connection because all other games are fine. I will try again later.

Yep it had been in the closed beta and I was all ready for it, but that first night I noticed it was out basically they removed an entire element of the game probably to appease the crappy sniping community

That's just ridiculous. Making sniping challenging is part of the fun.

I enjoyed playing with G1ggs and partridge, but I wish they would have stuck around longer. Partridge leaves me all by my lonesome to get stomped in a 4vs10 match. Then I join him and he's just in a 3vs3 Guerilla Warfare (vs people that couldn't have been very good, as I went 9 and 2 (and both deaths were terribly disappointing.)) Is it often that you Euros can't get into full games? I notice a lot of complaining from your side of the ocean about 3vs4, etc. I almost always get into a full game in the States....

Jeabombers! Enjoyed the game last night, sorry I had to duck out, it was getting late over here. I had a quick game on Crater, just a small game of about 6 players and I pwned them all, why can't I play that well on the bigger games!! I got my Silver Medal for turret kills too

So a slow start, but a good finish, I'm edging closer to my next promotion but I'm going to have to put some time in to get through these later ranks, it takes an age to progress. I've got two unlock points in the bank so the three I'll get will all go on completing Infiltrator and the rest on Medic. I can hear more Medic recovery zappers these days!

Hopefully it won't be too long before the private games are available and we can sort out a session between us blu-ray forumites

One question; I've established that an Engineer can only place on turret at a time and that placing another causes your first to blow up. That also seems to be the case for proximity mines; if I place two on a wall, then top up my ammo and place two more, do the first ones vanish? What are others experiences of doing that, it doesn't seem to be the case that you can litter the place with PMs (which is fair enough)

I've had no lag or connectivity issues since the update, touch wood!

I'm working through the single player campaign (just done the Ice Saw section) and must say that K3 is about 300% better than the second game. I have never known a game to improve so much in a sequel on the same platform since Assassins Creed 2! Wow! Massive amount of variety, the graphics are outstanding (the best environment texture work on a FPS on the PS3) and the campaign is much longer. Got the Collectors Edition, with full soundtrack and DLC.

I'm a couple of levels ahead of you and I'm aiming to finish this weekend, then go back to mop up the remaining campaign trophies before tackling the Elite difficulty! There have been some criticisms of the single player game, but I've really enjoyed it.
