Default I need your help fighting these freaks!!!

While on Amazon.com's HD-DVD forum, I gently tried to bring reason to these people. I think it's like trying to get a mime to talk. Please help me out if you have the time. My name there is Youpeoplemakemyasstwitch. Thanks!

http://www.amazon.com/tag/hd%20dvd/f...MxN9HBBQM6YI7O

By the way, I admit that this post officially outs me as someone who went purple. Please accept my apology. For the record, I refuse to buy any Warner on HD-DVD and I'm trying to keep my other HD-DVD purchases to a minimum.

Now one of the guys there has somehow discovered my real name and my city and state and is posting it. I alerted Amazon.com about it. That angers me.

Sounds like you have found yourself alone in one of the HD-DVD strongholds. These are some if tghe most serious HD-DVD jihadists I have ever seen. Probably the same guys that were responsible for re-directing the BDA website, and we know they are responsible for FUDding all over the web and skewing reviews and acting like 14 year old fanboys.

I love my Blu-Ray, but I wouldn't even go through half the extremes as these guys over a friggin' high-def media format.

There are some real idiots on there who give blu-ray movies 1 star reviews and 5 stars to every hd dvd title they review.
When I find them I report their posts, sometimes they get removed.

I really don't understand how you could be an HD DVD fanboy. I'm a blu boy because blu-ray is a better format. Can someone explain to me what about HD DVD makes people so fanatical about it? I mean I can understand (if you're uninformed) picking it for its lower cost, but to be so zealous..... I don't understand? Maybe they're all Microshiba employees maybe? That's the only explanation I can think of...

If that is true, then Microshiba sure have ALOT of time on their hands.

No wonder they are losing.

Thanks for your solace. I just now informed them that I realized the error of my ways. I should have realized that I was in an HD-DVD forum. I just hate it when people say a movie sucks simply because it is exclusive to the other side, whether it be blu or hd.

It also irked me when they posted the personal info about me. I felt like John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard. I hope my pension is still there in the morning

I'm pretty sure that's illegal. You shouldn't let them get away with that.

when there is a format war that will have a winner and someone has to lose and go away (unlike the videogame industry)...people tend to protect their investment more and are blinded by what they have...and they do this regardless of the reason they purchased the product...

they chose a side and don't want to end up with a dead format...because they have just wasted money...

HD-DVD has a bit to go just to catch up with BD...while BD just has to take 1 studio away from HD-DVD to pretty much end this war...

if Warner goes red...I am almost forced to go purple because of the fact that they claim to want one format and all they did was make things worse...and probably have some offer on the table with the download service that MS has coming...

be the smart one, and don't try to knock some sense into those who don't want common sense. because soon they will hit that wall "I SHOULD HAVE...." they will learn eventually.

The guys in that forum are the same people that will also argue Windows Vista Ultimate was a great purchase after paying $399 at launch. They will argue why X-Box 360 is the best gaming console on the market after they've had to send it off twice for overheating and a dead DVD drive, even after paying an extra $200-$400 on top of the MSRP to make it equivalent to the PS3. These are the guys who claimed for two years how the Zune would dethrone the iPod as the #1 portable music device. All the while, they proclaim HD-DVD is a technologically and economically superior HDM format. And when HD-DVD dies, these will be the same guys who deny HD-DVD's existence altogether and find the next best option of defending their beloved obsessions. It's called a bad case of hardcore FANBOYISM. These folks are completely consumed to the point of insanity, and when you are as bad off as them, any possible hope of sensibility or logic is lost.

Deep down inside these guys know Vista sucks, the X-Box's functionality doesn't stack up to the PS3's, and that HD-DVD is dead in the water. And because of it, they have to go through extremes like cracking your identity, rigging Amazon customer reviews, and re-directing the BDA's website. Like we say here at Texas Tech about our delusional Texas A&M rivals -- when you can't win outright, let the war of words and the 12-year-old shenanigans begin. They go through extravagant lengths year in and year out to distract from the ass whipping they know they are going to receive.

At the end of the day, you are wasting your time with these people and just giving those guys more flame bait. Relax and let the BDA fight the dirty fight. Just know in the back of your head as a sensible, logical person, you made the intelligent choice.

HDDVD fan-boys are fanatical because they paid so little for such a substandard product. They just want to say "HD? Well I paid less!" What is truly sad is all their players are subsidized like PS3s They cannot manufacture that hardware and still be making a profit at $200. If there was no format war HDDVD players would cost about as much as blu-ray.

As along term mac user, I have had plenty of experience with Windows fanatics. Most people are ok, but some sneer when they hear I have a mac. It's hard to explain to those types why i choose a system that doesn't crash and is truly user friendly.

The only way to make HDDVD see reason is through sales numbers, that's why I'm blu all the way.
