I've caught some Oblivion footage connecting my PS3 to a DVD-recorder's inputs then outing to the TV. Standard def of course. You'll need a recording BD-player to save hi-def footage.

you can also connect your PS3 directly to your computer using a video capture card, but, it won't be HD.

Most people use something like this. It is not 1080p HD as you can't caputre that as other have stated but you dont need a blu burner for HD.

This will record in 1080i or 720p as it uses component video input instead of your HDMI.

There are several capture cards that will do HD these days, even one with HDMI.... but they aren't very cheap.

I've wondered this as well. To aid in learning drum songs, I would watch videos of the Guitar Hero drum tracks for song on Youtube - they translate quite nicely and I can play along, but Youtube ones aren't always that great quality and I got loads of songs on my GH I want videos of.
