So with the Universal announcement of Brazil it's safe to say Criterion won't be releasing it in 2011. If released by Criterion, we're looking at second half- 2012 at the very earliest-- most likely 2013.

Shell, Arkadin posted something from criterionforum a few pages back that states Criterion will announce a release late 2011 or early 2012 if I remember right.

Watched Steve McQueen's 'Hunger' - I found it intensely inspirational. I really enjoyed the muted technique he used, and the acting was just superb.

I wrote a review for Associated Content if any of you want to check it out.

thanks for any who do

Arkadins post made me believe it was asked after the Universal announcement, but I could be wrong, as I have not seen the original criterionforum post.

It was before the Universal announcement, but shouldn't make a difference. It's probably the same situation they had with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This just gives Universal the chance to release another mediocre Blu-ray before we get the good release .

I don't doubt its release. I just don't think it's going to be for at least a year.

Was able to score Bottle Rocket and Last Year in Marienbad at a Borders by my house. Woot! (Not a huge Wes Anderson fan...but I couldn't pass up the discount)

Congrats on obtaining Last Year at Marienbad at that discount. Just a great film.

Yeah! I'm really looking forward to that one. I was surprised to even find anything of worth.

Bottle Rocket is such a nice tidy film with a lot of heart. I didn't see as a very important film at first, but check out the special features and the story about how it actually came to fruition and you'll appreciate it a lot more.

I didn't even finish it the first time I watched it, but this could have just been the wrong time to watch it, I'm not sure. I've come to realize that your emotional status at the time of viewing greatly influences the enjoyment/appreciation of a film. With this in mind, and my high regard for all things criterion, I tend to give criterion films more than a single viewing, so I definitely will.

He doesn't need to. At the bottom of the article is a link to another article talking about the title treatment.

My Pleasure!

I'm hoping to pick up a copy of Twilight Zone Season 3 on Saturday...one of my (2) local B & N has it in stock...hope it doesn't fly out the door before Saturday.

I might consider Videodrome as well...got to scan the shelves and see what calls out to me!

Thanks for the reminder PP...unlike Best Buy, I forgot that B & N holds DVDs and BDs for (3) days.

Best Buy will only hold it for one day.

EDIT: Copy reserved! It's MSRP is $99.99...they've got it for $89.99. With the 10% members discount plus the 50% coupon it'll cost me $40.00 before sales tax!

I really wish Traffic was released by Criterion. I love the current release's PQ, but I want to see the bonus features.

Edit: Turns out Netflix has the bonus disc.
