jeesh - all the way 'til October - that's a long way off to own the Euro cut of the film.

So we'll have the Jerry Goldsmith scored Director's Cut and the Tangerine Dream scored theatrical version?

Jerry's score is also only on the European version of the film.

Some are locked, some are region free. You'll just have to wait and see.

I wonder if we'll even get the Ultimate Edition. Because I don't recall it ever being released over here. I think we got the 90 minute International cut instead, with no extras.

The international cut is indeed the only version that was ever released in Europe. And I don't think the other cuts will be released in Europe in the years to come. No dubs were made for the US theatrical cut or the Director's Cut, so it can't be released in most European countries

According to the backcover posted on Play.com there's only ONE special feature: the Director's Cut!

The release date is February 6.

The back of the Swedish release says the European Theatrical Cut will have DTS-HD MA 5.1 and the Director's Cut will have DD 5.1. Wonder if the Director's Cut will end up being in SD?

I'd still like to know the differences between this "international" cut and the director's cut... because the director's cut is missing a pretty substantial scene at the end that was in the shorter US theatrical cut, and I'd like to know if it will be included in this version.

What scene is it you're asking about?

Differenced between the US Theatrical, European Theatrical, TV Version and Director's Cut

Lots of info on that site, and according to the linked page...

The following footage is not found in the Director's Cut of Legend :

[Show spoiler]Tangerine Dream score
Opening prologue
Seeing Darkness at the beginning
Jack and Lili kissing at the beginning of the film
The shot of the unicorn horn getting cut off
Gump and Jack attacked by the wild beasts
The footage of the horn being reattached
Jack and Lili running off in the woods together

So I guess one would need to get both the US and UK version to have both TCs and the DC. To be honest I'm not that fussed about seeing the US TC, but it would be annoying if the DC was confined to SD sound and/or video on this release.

and it's all on one disc?? Glad to see it's Region A/B/C. The O of 'only' obscures the running time

AnimeOnBlu: do you have a link to a pic of the backcover of the Swedish release?

really? because the Euro cut is 91 minutes (94min according to imdb)

EDIT: no I'm wrong, was checking my Japanese laserdisc the film running time is 89min 48sec and does NOT include the scene that you asking about retablo.

wasn't there a recent movie that had the Tangerine Dream/Jon Anderson song 'Loved by the Sun' in it as well??
