I have the new Panasonic BD30 player with the latest v1.3 firmware. Noticed when I played the movie WAR the PiP function was not working right. First my BD30 player remote would not let me turn PiP on from the remote. I had to go into the movie menu special features and turn it on. Once the movie started playing with the PiP. The movie and pip video was stuttering almost like it was in slow motion and out of sync.
Just to note I put in Resident Evil: Extinction and could turn the PiP on via the remote and could turn the PiP video box audio on and off with the remote as well. So surely nothing wrongs with the player? I'm guessing its either the movie WAR on all 1.1 profile players messing up, or a bad disc, or my firmware on my player doesn't like WAR's PiP function? ![]() P.S. I did post a comment in the BD30 player thread, but thought this could also be a movie related issue rather than player. |

War PIP deosn't work as flawless and seamless as the resident evil extinction PIP. plus when the PIP comes on the resolution goes to 1080i. The movie was great though. the ending was good. good twist. I thought it would be cheesy.

The real issue though is why that would be happening. The PIP content is supposed to be encoded to match the main picture (ie. at 24p) so that this doesn't have to be done. |

I've watched all the new 1.1 PIP movies Sunshine, RE:E, 3:10 to Yuma, and War. Only War does the picture switch to 1080i when the PIP comes on. When the PIP feature is done the picture switches back to 1080p. My PS3 has the latest firmware update btw. I don't care though, I really enjoyed the movie and probably will never use the PIP on it again.

Perhaps why most people aren't noticing because most don't have 24p capable tvs yet? In anycase I really would hardly ever use PiP. Just something I wanted to try out. Last edited by UTVOL06; 01-02-2008 at 02:13 PM. |
