Max I saw your comment, and I was adding mine as you were submitting yours. Since Amir is also an "insider" I guess he is admitting your are a lot more reliable than he is.

And his response was:
"In some matters, sure...."

He was moved to another position at M$. He is calling himself a "retired" AVS Insider.

I also like Max's response, NONE. Im with him, who gives a shit what Amir thinks and says, a good portion of it is bullshit.

If I'm interpreting Ramer's recent article correctly, he claims that the latest month's releases are 92% BD50.

"...initially, there was a great deal of criticism concerning the dearth of BD-50 dual-layer disc releases; the culprit was said to be yield. However, things have steadily improved. I plotted the monthly percentage of 50 GB BDs since the format was introduced. The percentage grew with each passing month; it now stands at 92%.... "

Well, see, the whole "insider" part is what is confusing. Could be he's inside some institution (probably mental, but maybe something else).

Yes, that 92% figure is the percent of *released* Blu-ray Discs that are dual-layer, not a figure describing "yield".

If you read a few statements further you'll see Dan Ramer basically say "why should we care about yield" if it doesn't affect product and it doesn't affect consumer price?

So, Amir’s on HDD now?
Well then a tip of the hat to the mods and owners of AVS as apparently their new rules are truly having some effect.

I guess that makes it official then, HDD is the *old* AVS or the new front for the Red Brigade of HD DVD.

Lol, they must have had great fun with the tongue in cheek macho-man kickin arse post I made a couple pages back to Esox.
I guess they have nothing else to offer so they’ve resurrected the replication line doomsday scenario while holding their collective breaths over which way Warner will tilt…….which will sort of make the discussion moot anyway.

Yikes, I just clicked on the first page of that HDD thread. One quote from me and several by Max caused a thread of 86 pages ? ? ? ? ? ?
Those boys have waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands.

Got to run to dinner guys, I am being "summoned".

Dude, I started that thread really as just an FYI to all of the more reasonable HD DVD supporters. Before you know it it's blossomed into what I believe is the largest thread that's ever been seen on HDD. Mind you, that's in less than 72 hours. (1,288 posts and over 33,000 views)

Amir, Kosty and HD NOW (Rdjam) have now infiltrated the thread and it's gone from the initial debate to replication, etc. Yes, it's official, the Red Ant colony has taken to swarming and their new home is HDD.

Wait a minute, that was tongue-in-cheek?

Seriously, I wouldn't give a sh!t if I were you and/or Max what they say over there. At this point, they're "talking" to any idiot(s) that will listen. As we've seen, the idiots seem to flock to and congregate around those guys (these days at HDD). That speaks volumes.

I also think it's funny that they "monitor" what is said over here by our Insiders.

I know he's busy, but I really, really do miss paidgeek. I got into a habit of getting into work and doing a "see all posts" by you, Max, and paidgeek every morning and, well, I MISS THE GEEK!!!

You know, in all seriousness, it ain't half bad over there in the Blu-Ray section. I too have a tip of the hat for the mods and owners, whatever they're doing seems to be working, and absolutely explains whats going on over at HDD.

Well, if we get get a BD optimized encode (AVC or VC-1, don't care) and 24 bit LPCM or Dolby TrueHD of Batman Begins, I absolutely stand by what I said. When the time comes, I will send a token of appreciation (fruit basket, cookies, caramel & cheese corn, whatever) over to whomever is responsible at WHV. I think my heart skipped a beat when I read that they were even considering it for Batman Begins.
