If you want to take an additional precautionary measure, you may want to visit a chain location (e.g. Oceans or T&T) rather than an independent store. Prices are roughly the same, but you may feel more comfortable purchasing your seafood at a larger supermarket.

I drove by T&T today, but I was headed for an appointment and thereby couldn't stop in. I thought of the conversation in this thread as I was driving by. LOL! I'm off on Friday, so I think I'll head over there (only about 20 minutes drive) and check them out....it's been at least 2 years since I was there last.
T&T, for the record, is now owned by Loblaws!
