The UK release is on Amazon right now for £7.25 which is a great price, and would it be fair to say it will also come with the slipbox? I've never seen it without the slipbox as it's usually completely sealed (over the slipbox too).

Thanks.
I think the 40 minute Making Of is the only doc not in HD. It still comes with a slipbox from what i heard, but you can always e-mail Amazon about it.

Brilliant film but if you can, get the US Blu Ray.

Thanks. I'll just pick up the UK version. I'm not a fan of having different sized cases in my collection unless it's for things like Steelbooks or Collectors Edition boxes. Not to mention I don't like the large holes in the back of US slipcovers.

I don't personally mind saving some room, but yes, good idea. The US Blu Ray is actually pretty expensive, but it has better picture and better sound, so there's both pros and cons. The UK version still looks damn good though!

Thanks for the reply guys, I really do appreciate it. I honestly wasn't expecting any replies soon, what with the Zodiac thread not having much interest initially anyway and the release of the Tron DMR cover garnering attention away, but it's nice for you guys to help me out.

Thanks. I think I'll make the order now, who can argue with £7.25 right?

I think it's easier than trying to find the DVD of the Directo's Cut! Shame abouth the huge differences though between the Paramount and Warners releases. It's the second time I've been burnt this week with BD's with Monsters been the other.

On the DVD front I ordered Once Upon A Time In The West and it came with a horrible cover nothing like the Digipak I've seen previously!

I managed to buy the Once Upon a Time in the West digipack about a year ago from Ebay for about £3-4. Awesome package to be honest.

Can't wait for my German Limited Edition Blu-ray set to arrive, it is truly epic!

Received my Zodiac this morning from Amazon and it does indeed have the slipbox. What's interesting though is the Blu-ray case artwork is now exactly the same as the slipbox, which leads me to think they're soon going to stop producing the slipboxes. However, the inner artwork of the Blu-ray case look identical to that of the originals with the white background and envelope style design. I'll have a fiddle about with it, but it may even simply be the case of they have the Blu-ray case artwork backwards, or always have, I don't know it's a bit strange.

For those with outer white artwork for the Blu-ray case, what does the artwork look like on the inside when you open the case up?

I'm chuffed to bits I've received the slipbox in perfect condition, I'm just very intrigued by these differences that's all.

EDIT: Just checked it out, the artwork for Zodiac's Blu-ray case is definitely reversible! I've just flipped it round and got the white envelope cover on the outside now, complete with spine, ratings and specifications etc on the back. I can always just flip it back should I ever want the envelope to be on the inside of the case when I open it. I'm highly impressed.

It still comes in it's slipcase, I had mine this week from Amazon. As I've mentioned in the past I don't think you'll get it without the case as the cover is completely different they'd have to re-issue it and redo the cover.

I should have done my homework first it wasn't until mine arrived that I read about the differences between the Warners release and the Paramount release.

According to the DVDBeaver review all the extras are in HD though only difference is that the UK extras are on the movie disc and the US ones on a 2nd disc.

I can only see nominal difference in the screen grabs whether you notice a lot more in motion I don't know. I think when I get round to watching I'll pretend it's a DVD!
