If you guys have a bank debit card tied to your PSN account. You should immediately go to your bank cancel that debit card, have the bank issue you a new debit card and have fraud alert turned on if you don't have it already.

Most, not all, banks will issue you a temporary debit card if you walk into the actual banking center and request to have a card cancelled and replaced. Now, I'm only speaking from experience with the last 3 banks I've been with but walking into a banking center will not instantly get you a new card as they have to process the request through their credit/debit card center and have your name and account number stamped onto a new card and tie it your actual bank account. So for those that are dependent on a debit card for everyday purchases and whatnot, contact your bank and see if their banking center location will issue you a temp card

They still got the info to steal your ID. Its probably why they didn't even say they know if they went after the CC. CC theft is one thing, ID theft is a much bigger way to steal from someone.

I got my debit card instantly from my bank. They activate it right there from a big stack of unused cards. Then I just go to the bank machine and change my pin. Easy peasy!

That info is on the Playstation Blog, today's announcement. Contact one, they contact the others. Good for 90 days. I did it on the Experian website.

Stephie mentioned a little while ago that anytime you make a PSN purchase you get email confirmation. If you still have those emails you can find out what credit card you used that way.

Other than that, maybe look at your cc statements from past months?

I pulled a grand out for walking around money and then cancelled my check card. I should have my new one by Friday. I also dusted off my check book.

Credit, fake IDs, passports etc.. The guy that started Lifelock got arrested when someone stole his ID and was breaking the law.

Good to know. I'm taking my wife to her bank tomorrow so we can take care of her card since that was the last card that was on the PS3's saved information after I removed my card. Great to see folks being proactive about their personal information. I'm already in the process of changing my password on my Comcast e-mail account as well as the many sites that I frequent. Was about time I did it anyways

PSN Update again:

Quote:
I wanted to take this opporuntity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today.
There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion April 19th and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly this afternoon.
For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more frequently asked questions
Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Search for "funds have been added to your wallet"

Does this also affect people who use PSN cards?
