Didn't notice it, but now I do. I've updated OP to reflect the week of the 23rd.

Wow, it seems like POTC:AWE will end up outselling TF by a sizable margin within a month or two.

Didn't see that coming.

DV announced 61-39 again, 3 weeks in a row, the latest numbers includes the HD-DVD BOGO, so many expected HD-DVD to win the last week of the year.

SI moved on the figures in HMM (2 week old figures, NOT the latest!), because big numbers were sold the week before Christmas, the percentage doesn't need to move 1%, it may be hovering around 64.9% for example.

Unfortunately for HD-DVD, fighting tooth and nail for 0.5% last Christmas is pointless if they're going to lose 2%-3% in Q1 alone, due to such a poor software line-up.

Blade Runner on HD-DVD sold 24.95 vs. Bourne's 100.

This means that Blade Runner on HD-DVD sold .2495 * 98.36 = 24.54 for overall sales.

59.97 combined for BladeRunner means that Bladerunner combined sold 59.97/.9836 = 60.97 overall.

60.97 overall - 24.54 HD-DVD equals 36.43 sales for Blu-Ray.

That would have put it at #7 for the top 10 overall. Yet it's not there.

Show me where my math is bad please.
Where did 98.36 come from?

Yep I came up with exactly the same conclusion. One of the following has to be true:

-the combined number of 59.97 is wrong
-the HD number of 24.95 is wrong
-the hi-def sellers list is missing Blade Runner on Blu-ray
-The combined number somehow includes both versions of the title (collectors and ultimate)

There is a typo on that page for sure.

Grubert,

Could you help calculate out the Blade Runner ratios? It seems like the top ten should have the BD listed.

Thanks.

Was hoping the ratio would be bigger. Not going to see any white flags until it's at least 80:20 for awhile straight.

It would seem that little things like this are what Warner would discuss in planning for the next year.
Look at it as like a game of football (soccer) where the Blu-ray team is leading 2-0 at half time. 100:0 for each ratio. Then in the 2nd half, the Blu-ray team takes it 2-1, for a final score of 4-1. 2nd half is 66:34, and overall is 80:20. BUT, the Blu-ray team in fact extended their lead in the 2nd half. They were 2 goals up at the end of the 1st half and 3 goals up at the end of the 2nd half. So don't mistake the ratio improving for HD DVD as signifying the losing side catching up, the ratio can improve for them at the same time as they fall further and further behind.

98.36 is Bourne Ultimatum on the combined chart, being 100 on the overall chart.

Again, this is TWO weeks ago.

Figures were leaked last night for the 30th, and it was another 61-39, which is significant as it was post Christmas, and HD-DVD had a BOGO at Amazon, and a B2GF at Best Buy.

Next week could see Bluray hit 75-25.

Wow, were they hungover when they made this week's HMM or what?

On page 36, Happy Feet is listed (in the DVD chart) as a Disney title.

Amazing.

Don't we still have to wait for the week ended 12/30/07 to celebrate a complete year of outselling HD-DVD?

I mean, I'm sure that we did...but aren't a lot of people jumping the gun?

Why do people keep questioning David Vaughns numbers? He has been bang on every single week. He has said the week ending Dec. 30 is also 61:39 Blu-ray. He is even giving out more and more Neilsen data all the time that doesn't even get put into HMM.
