when it comes down to it, someone's either willing to buy something or they're not. if pirating was somehow completely done away with i'm sure such people would buy movies on occasion, but that's probably all. furthermore a decent amount of consumers (such as myself) hold keen interest in technologies such as blu-ray but will not buy into them do to the DRM sceme. as much as i would like to be the guy that owns the official versions of kill bill ect, i can see myself illegally downloading them in the future so i have more freedom over the content. but i certainly wouldnt buy the films since they are too restrictive. i buy dvds since they are decryptable and copyable in a decent amount of time, however the size of blu-ray is expansive. in otherwords, DRM works on both sides of the fence, keeping piracy out but a decent amount of educated consumers as well.
