I used to buy used ALOT but GoHastings has raised their prices and shipping AAANNNDDD cut down on their sales so it's been all new as of late. Probably 70% new/30% used.

I used to buy 100% new, but that had changed bcoz of all the hot deals we find in this forum(trades, Gohastings, Fye..etc), so now it is about 80% new, 20% used, now I actually get excited to get a movie used in my want list, when i get it for cheap or via trade

It may sound a bit silly to try and put into words, but it's the same reason I like a fresh unhandled magazine from the back of the magazine rack as opposed to just taking one that has been sitting on a cafe table or somewhere with bends and ruffled corners etc.

For me, being able to pick out a fresh-wrapped release with all accompanying slipcovers/stickers is very much a part of enjoying the movie actually!

Not that I feel there is anything "wrong" at all with buying used. In fact, it's probably more wise to do so from a practical sense. It's just that, for me, buying new is not a financial burden (thankfully) and is actually a fun part of getting the movie! If I bought films "excessively", then the benefits of buying used would surely make more sense.
Exactly my thoughts. I'm fortunate enough to be able to buy new without it becoming a burden.

About 50-60% of my collection is used, but I also buy a lot of new BDs off eBay that end up costing significantly less than Amazon.

I prefer to buy used, because it's cheaper. There is a pawn shop near me that has all blu-rays for $5! About once a week, I'll find one worth getting. Also, I always inspect the disc before buying.

I'd never be caught dead buying used. New or bust is my motto.

90% of my collection is brand new and the rest is used, but not used stuff from pawn shops, Blockbuster Video or anything like that. They are used copies bought from members on here that take very good care of their BDs.

I voted only buy new but to be fair thats only because i dont have easy access to a good used shop. ocassionally when i get back home to Phoenix Az i love to shop at bookmans the used bookstore but to be fair they carry every type of media i can find including beta max tapes so i am not averce to used just no great access and as some have mentioned 12 dollars for used is not really that much of a bargin any film i can wait to find used i could wait to hit 9 dollars new

I have a place in town called Disc Go Round that buys DVDs, Blus, CDs, and Records. They are starting to get a decent collection of Blus to choose from but they can still be above what i would expect to pay used. I usually look for the best priced on and buy it. I find myself buying New more then Used. I try to stay away from Pawn Shops. But I do look on eBay occasionally.

We have Disc Go Round/Cd Warehouse around here too, and I buy around 75% of my collection used and mostly from there although, Moviestop and Fye have some good deals and some pawn shops do as well.

I buy both new and used.. pretty equal actually. I'm usually fortunate enough to find deals on new BD's as well as used.

Wow. I dont think they are related though. It seems to be a solo operation. Their website is
