I saw on twitter that this is the first QB picked by the Jags SINCE Leftwich in '03. That's mind-blowing.

From what they were saying on NFLN Gabbert has like a freak memory or something and could be scary good (it would be the redskins luck that they passed on an Aaron Rodgers type )

We'll probably take some crappy Dlineman come on Pats move up here!!!

WOW Kerrigan !!!!!!!!!! WHAT A FAIL although he does seem to have a good work ethic.

It is, and that same Season Del Rio took Mark Brunell off the starting line up to give this chump the starting position. I will NEVER recover from that. It broke a lot of people's heart in Jacksonville when Brunell left the Jaguars.

Glad it's a QB we can build off from if this season doesn't go well for us. We need change right now, and I see it coming.

I'' say this, the Lions D is going to start getting pretty scary either this year or next. I thought Fairley woulda been top 8 at the worst but they got him as a steal at 13. And cheaper to boot.

Steal of the draft is going to the Giants though. Staying put and getting Prince Amukamara at 19 is insane. They must have captured a leprechaun or something.

And I don't care how good Julio Jones is, Falcons gave up WAYYYY too much.

I'll go with this year. I don't think the Bears will get any better and definitely not the Vikings. So it looks like our division isn't going to be all that tough to win this year. But the Lions D is going to be the only thing going for them for a while. And not even all of it, just the line. Scary though.

Really, every mock draft had TYRON going to Cowboys and you're shocked. Well not surprised. You've been wrong all night.

Interesting draft. I'm glad the Chiefs got a WR, though I would have preferred an OT or NT. Can't wait for tomorrow to see what ensues.

Cowboys actually took the guy I wanted in the first round for the second year in a row, may be that Jerry knows a bit more about football than I thought.

So the Panthers make the stupid move and draft Cam Newton. I wanted them to take Patrick Peterson. I'm hoping I'm completely wrong about Newton and he turns out to be great. Atlanta moved up and got Julio Jones. So now were going to have to deal with Roddy White, Julio Jones, and Tony Gonzalez. Panthers pretty much have to try and get Nnamdi.

I'm very happy the Ravens got Jimmy Smith. They need corner's like all hell. Now just fill some gaps in the second and third and they should be all set to go deep in the playoffs yet again.

I really just hope Kindle and Cody get healthy for this year. They were the first 2 picks last year and neither of them did anything. Kindle with the Skull fracture and Cody with the weight/back problems. We could still use some help at pass rush, if Kindle and Cody got healthy I think they could go to the bowl.

Completely shocked that Mark Ingram went at No. 28 to the Saints. I figured top 15 at the latest.

As someone from Detroit I can tell you the city is divided 50/50 on this pick, were happy the Lions stuck to their guns and got a DT to match up well with Suh. That Front line is going to be absolutely disgusting this year KVB, Suh, Fairley, and Corey Williams, But the Lions passed on a Fantastic opportunity by passing on Prince Amukamara. Many expected the Vikings to grab him when they didn't I went ecstatic, When they picked Fairley initially I was sad and immediately started texting everyone who agreed it was a WTF pick, being that the line was good last year, and the Lions need a CB. With Smith off the Board Now idk what the Lions will do, with Luck in the 2nd Round they can grab a Guard they need Very badly for run blocking.

One word = Packers

All of you wondering about that Falcons move up is all about matching guns with Packers.

I'm not thrilled with the Patriots first round. I think Solder is a solid pick and should help their line. It pretty much cements Matt Light's departure, which is a bit bittersweet because he's a great leader but his skills are diminishing. I didn't love the Patriots trading their second first rounder to the Saints. Next year's Saint first round pick will likely be in the mid to late 20s and I just don't think they got enough value for the pick. In essence they traded a first round pick for two second round picks since future picks are devalued by a round.

I fully expect the Patriots to trade today's first pick to a team that needs a quarterback, which could be the Cardinals, Bengals, Bills, 49ers, Raiders, Dolphins, or Redskins. I'm sure the Patriots are trying to get a bidding war going and has to hope that some team is in love with Kaepernick, Mallett, or Dalton and is afraid of missing out on their man. Honestly I wouldn't mind if the Patriots would just use the pick though. They need front-seven help and I think Da'Quan Bowers would be a great pick if they are comfortable with his health. The Patriots have done well with their second round picks in the last 2 years so today could be a big day for the Pats with 3 second round picks and 2 third rounders.

Overall, I'm fine with the Fairley pick, but I'm concerned about this talk of his "work ethic". I don't want another Shaun Rogers.

I agree that they should address the OL in the 2nd round, unless there's a good option at CB.

Jaguars might try to get a defensive player for our 2nd round pick, but then I heard on our local news they might try to find a new weapon for our upcoming Rookie QB.

Overall, Jaguar fans here seem to be happy as I am to finally draft a QB.

Aside from Carolina I don't see a "bad" pick. I could see a lot of people saying the Vikings did pick bad, since he more than likely would have been available in the second or even third round. But a team revolves around a QB.

I definitely wouldn't have done all they did to get a WR if I was ATL but I guess they feel the need to be an offensive juggernaut. Abraham needs help way more than they needed another WR.

As for Cam Newton, if he gets down to business, practices hard, devours the playbook, and leads a young team then he could be great. But time and time again we've seen more people end up like Jamarcus than we have Manning (either)

SO far, I would definitely consider Amakumara or Ingram as steal of the first round.
