Finally sat down to watch this one, Its multi language which is nice and also has a nice full screen. The menu also looks pretty good.

The 3D on this one has great depth and the scenes of the landscapes look fantastic on a par with Imax Grand Canyon, you can look right back into the distance with the boat scenes. The movie is for sure one for the diehards if you have watched 1 & 2 then this will be a most.

For fans like me of pop out effects you are out of luck, the movie has pretty much zero in this region but makes up for it in the depth perception.

If you are fan of the other two movies this is one to get and kept me watching to the end.

So reviewers are getting 3d-BDs but the general public isn't? Is this an exclusive for Panasonic or some other 3rd party?

hmm. I ended up pre-ordering it as the other release seemed increasingly unlikely, I wish that some concrete info on this would come forward so I have time to cancel my pre-order and get the 3d version.

That's weird that your friend would have a 3D copy when absolutely nothing has been announced indicating there will be one (but Fox also did have the Ice Age 3 and Avatar exclusives with Pansonic so we might end up hearing about one later on, though I think both of those had announcements long before hitting the streets)

Guys, there is already a 3D Blu-ray ISO circulating around (cough cough), so yes there is a 3D Blu-ray it's just Fox haven't announced it yet.

I wonder if a new Panasonic glasses bundle is in the works and will be announced upon release, I did find it odd that Amazon.com hasn't had the bundle in stock for a while.... No idea. I did find it odd that this wasn't given a retail 3D release yet the Jack Black film comes from Fox weeks later.

I checked our Best Buy stock system and we aren't showing a 3D release of this yet. (So it is unlikely to be a Best Buy retailer exclusive.)
I also am not seeing a stock issue on the Avatar 3D kits at Best Buy, and our out of stock date is 01/31/2012, so im assuming we will have those for quite some time. I know that the new 2011 Panasonic GT and VT sets are coming April 1st, and they supposedly have Avatar packed into the box of the TV's at Best Buy, so maybe Fox will launch a second kit with Narnia in it? I'll update if I find out anything more!!

i decided to wait for this to come out instead of buying the 2d one today. i bet they are just going to put out another 3d combo pack with the 2d version and dvd+digital copy like disney did with alice in wonderland and are gonna do with beauty and the beast...i'll just wait to get it, and watch it on netflix in the meantime if i feel like it

normally i wouldn't get it cuz i know it's a conversion, but if i'm getting a combo pack i might as well get the 3d combo pack. and i saw a clip of it in 3d and it didn't look too bad. you could tell it was a conversion but it was ok.

also i doubt the price for the 2d pack will increase more than the current $20 for long, since it's not like a disney classic

I'm curious about this as well. And did it feature the theatrical 7.1 track unlike the 2D release? It looks like this and possibly Gulliver's Travels both lack the 7.1 tracks that were featured in theaters and were downgraded to 5.1.

I am also skipping the 2D version of this. Hope it will come out in 3D someday. They need to just have all versions released on the same day for goodness sakes!!

For UK only.

VOTDT will be showing in 3D on Sky 3D Box Office from May 16th 11pm

Seems the only way to see this in 3D at the moment. Without a review copy of course.

There is general discussion about whether it will be released posted here:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/3d-blu-ray...ml#post4664357

And user: TGReaper posted these screen pix of the main menu from a "Review Copy"

By the way, Where did you buy this 3D Blu-ray?
Do you have a better close up photo of what the printing says?
Does it have any printing on the back that say's it's an exclusive with like Sony, Panansonic, or something like that?
What does the disc look like?

...and most importantly
Why does it look like a copy printed cover? There doesn't seem to be any color on that cover.
