Obsessed is such an ugly word, more like a deep lifelong devotion, for the greatest film franchise of all time.

I've tried and I've tried explaining, but she still says I need to get rid of a few things to make room and to stop buying.... Yeah right!

Knowing that the Theatrical Cuts won't be in this set, nor probably ever released on Blu Ray, i went ahead and bought the so called Limited Editions of the TC's on DVD... Now i can finally retire those old worn out VHS tapes!

I personally can't wait for the Complete Saga to come out! I know the prequels are pretty terrible and the last disc seems like a lot of fluff (why would they make a 90 minute doc on Star Wars Geeks?) but i'll still buy it for "collection purposes". I have a soft spot for these movies, especially the Original Trilogy and watching them in HD will be great. I'm pretty excited to see what changes has been made! I hope Han shoots first, CG Yoda replacement in Phantom Menace and i hope Darth Vader's lightsaber is RED again instead of PINK!

Sounds very familiar. I also get "Don't you already have that" and "Why do you need 2".

If you really love Star Wars the you'll pre-order this regardless, if you just like it but aren't fussed about wanting it ASAP then I'd wait.
So Lucas can make as much money as possible remember when the limited editions (2006) came out they said they where only available till chrismas ? Its 2011 now and they are still availabe to buy its a con by Lucus !

HA. Not a chance, I'm there at the shop door on the day of release regardless of any price difference. Back home and my door is 'LOCKED'.

BTW, the blu-ray artwork is 'stinkin'.

I'd hold onto your DVD's, each trilogy gets a disc of extras so unless everything is in SD I can't see them including all the documentaries from the prequels on one disc. I'd be quite disappointed if those docs were in SD along with Empire of Dreams. Plus how can you sell anything Star Wars? You'll regret it afterwards....

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the 9th disc, while 7h45m's of extras is great I'm sure some of it's going to be in SD I really was hoping for the HD Star Wars experience all the way! The retro docs should be fun though.

I've still got my VHS' of these. Got them on dvds aswell transferred from JAP laserdiscs. Worth watching, especially the Star Wars one. It's camper than a camp thing, presented by C-3PO and R2-D2.

What a shame 'The Holiday Special' ain't included. You have to see it to believe just how diabolical it is. VEEEERY FUNNY!

Whatever the actors were paid for The Holiday Special it wasn't enough. "The Star Wars Holiday Special is brought to you by...." Demestos because only the power of Demestos can remove that Special kind of stink....

Hmm, that is very true. I'll hold on to the DVD's for now! Though one of the Alien Anthology discs had around 10-12 hours worth of extras on it, so it's not impossible... I think they would be able to fit most of it on those two BD's with what's left of space, depending on how much the "new stuff" takes up.

The 9th disc does seem like mostly fluff. Why would they include a 90 minute doc on Star Wars cosplayers? The Empire of Dreams doc is fantastic, I'd much rather have that in re-encoded in HD!

I mentioned in the US thread that some fan stuff might be included (so I was right for once), the 9th disc seems to be more about the Star Wars experience than actual filming. Star Wars is one of things were you can have a mix of the two because of its incredible fanbase. There have been some great fan movies and parodies but I prefer docs on filming myself. As you said the two extra's discs which come with the trilogies are capable of holding a lot of stuff on top of the deleted/extended/alternative scenes (I'm sure this will include Han shooting first!) depending on their AV quality.

The Jambe Davdar documentaries would have been a great addition. Very well made.

Any info on subtitles yet? I don't need subs but Dutch subs are always handy.

I'm only 21 But I still remember the day my dad bought the Star Wars limited edition box set on VHS, it was black and gold and had darth vader on it. This one I believe: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Star-Wars-Tril...item3cb78245b6
So I never even saw the originals in the cinema. I saw Phantom Menace but that was enough to put me off seeing the next two!
