The PS3 just took the XBox 360 concept to the next level with Sony's vision that HD media still had a roll to play. |

Blu-ray needed the PS3, and the PS3 needed Blu-ray. Each succeeds because of the other and it was as simple as that.
That being said, Sony was very smart in integrating the Blu-ray drive on the PS3. I can play games and watch Blu-rays on the same sweet machine! It's so much better than having them be separate (for me). |

American companies think about the next year, while Japanese companies think about the next ten years. One thing Sony never did was rush a product to market without testing it thoroughly and act like it was no big deal. A 33% (360) failure rate vs. a .02% (PS3) failure rate. The most insulting thing is some still do not consider the PS3 as a Blu player. I checked the Wall Street Journal to confirm the WB good news, and the person who wrote the article referred to HDDVD having more players than Blu (which anyone here know is a BS statement). I saw a guy yesterday that was buying a BD player at best buy. I couldn't help but smile.

I think it was a great move by Sony to include a BD drive in their system. For the future of gaming and home media. The only downside I see is that Blu has slower load speeds then DVD. At least until faster drives come out. A 2x Blu can not load as fast as a 24x DVD, plain and simple.
As for MS, yay for them, they were able to get a jump and have the largest install base. Nintendo will pass them up soon and I hope Sony keeps picking up steam and passes them. I personally am done with my 360 for the most part. I will only buy must have 360 exclusives if I really feel I must have it. Everything else will be on PS3. I too am on my third system and that was in about an 18 month span also. I would say 9/10 people I know that have a 360 have had some sort of problem if they havent had the three red lights and had to replace it. Thanks MS for rushing out your system and giving us all crap. No recall, just warrenty extentions that will replace our crap with more crap. At least each replacement restarts the warrenty so I will never have to buy one again. And I paid for the 2 year extended warrenty on my first one so I have 5 years instead of 3 on each replacement. |
