If the New York Times posted it, then it would be credible, like they did with the Paramount/Dreamworks $150Mil deal.

I wounder if anyone knows what kind of clauses is in the Paramount/HD-DVD contract and whether or not they can break it. Say something like if Blu-ray starts selling 5-1 or if +70% of studios start backing Blu-ray exclusively, then the contract is diminished.

I would love to know.

I held out so long and the sooner I get Transformers, the better.

Paramount got more money than they would make off HDM (most likely) for the whole year of 2008 and xmas 2007. Besides they will make up HDM sales when they start releasing on Blu-ray. From what I have seen they have not even released many movies on HD-DVD as it is. Can you say double dip? Truth is most consumers don't even know about this and in the end will be long forgotten.

Yeah, I have seen no credible news organization report anything about Fox or a payoff.

When Paramount does come back to Blu they better be giving us quality transfers. They better redo Mission Impossible because that transfer sucked aZZ. Most of their discs on both formats were unequal, giving HD DVD the preferential treatment.

If that call would to happen, paramount should make the right call and say well sure here it is, and then immediately announce that Transformers, Face/off, zodiac, anchorman, and old school will be out within a month on bluray with all new encodes

That would be amazing but wont happen

Don't know about most of you, but Paramount will have one big, hairy ass to kiss (mine) before I forgive them for what they did. But I guess the last laugh is on them, as they are stuck with a dead format for a while.

It's gotta suck for Paramount/DW to jump ship only to watch WB go Blu exclusive. And they have to know that Universal isn't that far behind with blu-ray support. Oh well, with that $150,000,000, maybe they could find a high price attorney to look for a loophole/out clause in that contract.

BLU-RAY is the only way!
When Paramount is forced kicking and screaming to release blu-ray titles again they will always be my lowest priority for purchases. I will not reward their greedy cash grab that furthered the format war.

Paramount is the worst studio in Hollywood. Period.

+1

I couldn't agree more. They sh!t on consumers for their payoff. Let them live with that greedy decision. I hope they can't release blu-ray titles this year either. They do not deserve profits on top of their payoff.

Blu ray should change its motto to

"The REAL look and sound of Perfect.

Ask Warner, Fox, Lionsgate, Sony, and Disney."

Well to be honest, I believe the NY Times to be a FUD paper and wouldn't believe most anything they (so called) report.
