Interesting that it's a Sony title over there... I guess that makes 7.1 audio less likely though - don't think Sony have ever released a title with 7.1. But what about the aspect ratio? Is it 1.78 or 2.35?

The Sony glasses/ Narnia 3d package is listed on Amazon now:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...F8&me=&seller=

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 3D Blu-ray+ 3D Glasses Bundle

Same price as Sony Store (189.99). It doesn't say anything about it not being in stock which usually with Amazon means it is in stock, but strangely it says 4 to 5 weeks on shipping

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but word on the street is this film received a TERRIBLE 2d to 3d conversion and probably isn't worth the time of day on 3D Blu Ray, especially if you have to buy the glasses to get it.

I heard the producer at a post screening Q&A (of another film) - and he went on for about 10 minutes about the 3D conversion, stating the 3D folk spent alot of time tweaking the image, they did not want to repeat the whole 'Clash of the Titan's' remake - I wish I had seen this in the theater in 3D, alas I did not get a chance to. I should have trekked out to the XD screen where it would have been 2.35, 3D and 7.1 sound

On top of that, I've heard from other sites that the 2d to 3d conversion on this one was top notch. I guess we'll have to wait till one of us gets this first.

Do you know which model that was that you saw it bundled with? And where is this?

A friend complained about the conversion saying it was pointless, but he's a big fan of popout. I thought it added some great depth to the film.

Thumbs up

In France, exclusivity of Narnia 3 should be finished for the month of August, 17th.

At the same date, Ice Age 3 in 3D will be avaible in retail (end of exclusivity with Panasonic).

I ran across these 2 different covers online.

This one is listed as a USA copy.

This one is obviously the one sold in France.

The 2nd cover looks too similar to the Avatar cover if you ask me, and the left side of the cover makes me think if this is how the retail version will look like then the cover might not be a 3D lenticular cover but just a plain reflective cover like Gulliver's Travels 3D.

I just found some of the shopping site to sell the narnia 3d. Looks like the U.S. version. I sent a message to the seller.

Wait a second. It says shipping via Hong Kong post. If it's coming from Hong Kong I'd be careful. Hong Kong is notoriously known for selling bootleg items of all sorts.

Just got a response back from the seller. I asked him if it is an original Blu-Ray 3D that comes in the Sony Glasses Starter pack, and was told that it is an original, but is the International Edition and has some Chinese writing on the cover. Not sure if I should pick one up since it isn't too much of a loss if it is a bootleg. Seems that DHGate will refund you the cash (kind of like E-Bay) if you set up a dispute and they rule in your favor.

Saw it in the theater, and it was pretty hard to tell whether it was filmed or conversion, in places--
But the best effect I remember was Georgie Henley's nose, in closeup shots. Nothing else came out of the screen so effectively.

From what I hear, the disc itself is still done by Fox so it's the same specs as the normal version - ie. 1.78 and 5.1.

Unless anyone has info that proves otherwise?

The specs on the site call it 2:39:1 and 5.1. Both the Sony and Japanese versions.
