Halloween 2 I will get.

I am shocked there is so much Halloween 3 love. More power to you for the ones that liked it, but to me it is one of the worst movies I have ever ever ever seen. And not because there was no Michael Myers in it either.

Anyway, I am still all for more horror releases, and def more older horror movies on Blu! Even Halloween 3!

I might be wrong, but weren't they planning on doing different halloween tales or something every two movies, but people wanted Michael back that they went and brought back to him?
After killing Myers in the second film, it was Carpenters idea to have any further movies in the series be different stories but with a Halloween theme, but people didn't want the movies without Myers. So they went back to that story for the fourth film.

I personally think 3 is the best and most original sequel. I love the story, the Halloween feel and the masks are awesome. Like you said people get hung up on it having Halloween in the title.

Finally. Will be getting both of these. Halloween II and Halloween III are classic 80's.

Tom Atkins liked part three, but felt they should have dropped Halloween from the title and just called it Season of the Witch.

It is an awful movie, but awful in a good way. I like H3, and look forward to picking both of these up (when they hit $10 or lower of course).

Now if I can only have The Fog and Christine!

I want the extras. At least give me John Carpenter commentary for part 2. If I can have that, then I'll be happy. I love his commentaries, especially when he is doing a duet with one of the actors or writers.

They shouldn't price it at 10 dollars or less. Some of you people complain about crappy transfers, but then say you won't spend money unless they charge nothing for the discs. That mindset is kind of part of the problem.

Halloween 3 is an extremely fun movie. There's nothing crappy about it. It was designed to be somewhat campy. That's part of the fun and certainly not a fault. People who judge this film because there's "No Michael!!!" need to realize it's a stand alone film.

I'd be down for them. Of course, I still need to get around to getting the other Halloween films on Blu-ray too. Now all we need is Anchor Bay to release Halloween 4 & 5.

Not "campy", just that if you've never seen "Five Million Years to Earth/Quatermass & the Pit"--one of John Carpenter's geek-favorite movies from childhood, which is why he went out and hired the same screenwriter--you WON'T GET IT.
So whiny No-Michael kiddies, either get in with the Hammer geeks, or don't embarrass yourself thinking you do. If you're so much of a danged Carpenter fan as much as you claim to be, and have never seen 5MYtE/Q&tP, that's like being a George Lucas fan and never having seen Kurosawa--It's only, like, the subconscious artistic inspirational center of all the director's work...

"They" being Dimension, who bought out the franchise at a garage sale after Compass Pictures went bankrupt, and ran into the easily-promotable ground by pretty much ignoring everything that happened in #2.
Like the Terminator, nothing after the director left is "real", only a shallow fraud.

As for "who directed it"--Even though Tommy Lee Wallace is credited, it's got John Carpenter on every frame.
Given Spielberg's ET/Poltergeist confusion the same year, I'm convinced Carpenter DID direct H3, and had to credit Wallace for Director's Guild restrictions (ie., a director can't be credited with two films in six months), as Carpenter had already directed "The Thing" earlier that summer.

(And although there's no date set: Fall?
Be sure to be in front of your TV set, kids...The clock is ticking...It's almost time... )

That would be great if they were all out before Halloween

I would love to see some Psycho love myself! And throw in IV for good measure.

I loved Halloween III from first viewing. Big deal that it didn't have Meyers in it. You have the other sequels for that.

Granted, the improved picture and sound will be nice, but are the majority of fans going to drop 20-30 bucks on a new disc just for an improved transfer?

I havent paid 20-30 bucks for a catalog title in a long time. universal catalog titles now adays usually are availble first week in the 12.99-17.99 range
But i tell you what an excellent transfer and great audio of a movie I really like, is worth a heck of a lot more than 20-30 bucks for me. I like special features, but guess what just the fact of finally getting the movie in High Definition is worth buying it.
based on the article it sounds like the writer is just bitter that universal didnt want to buy any of the convention and New Beverly theatre screening and interview footage, that the article writer shot

Halloween III was one of the biggest stinkers I've ever seen! There was nothing fun about it. It had absolutely nothing to do with Michael Myers and shouldn't even be included in the series! Since it should be considered a stand alone film, it shouldn't even be called Halloween III then.
I'll probably pick up Halloween II though.

You do have to admit its not as crappy as the Nicholas Cage movie "Season Of the Witch" that came out earlier this year lol

But saying it like that is just confusing. Or do you also state that for example you bought the Halloween sequels when in fact you didn't buy them?

Just give a decent transfer for each film at a budget price.
Even better make it a double feature,(two discs,one case)for a decent price.
hell no

double features are lame, i want separate cases for each release, any real collector does

Great news! Looking forward to both these. I have a love/hate relationship to Halloween 3. Looking forward to see it in HD.

I was not a fan of Halloween III when it first came out. Over the years, I have grown to love it...and Stacy Nelkin.

Why? At the time, the Halloween franchise was intended to be a series of stand alone Halloween themed movies. All future sequels were to be the same. Hence, the Halloween III title. It's as simple as that. The Michael Myers story was over, and they moved on. It didn't work, and future filmmakers decided to bring Michael back and make him a Freddy/Jason type franchise character. But that's not what the series was originally meant to be.

If it helps, just pretend that Silver Shamrock made Michael's mask.
