I'm curious about that too.
If I remember correctly the UK BD has a commentary and the US not.

Is the German equally or even better than the British one?

The German Blu-ray will offer:

- a restoration documentary [27:48 mins]
- the Argentinian documentary "Metropolis Refound" [46:56 mins.] (originally planned for the MoC release, too)
- footage about the restoration/reconstruction/intertitles [64:13 mins.]
- footage of Rudolf Klein-Rogge as an extra in other films of Fritz Lang [9:25 mins.]
- a feature about Gottfried Huppertz' music for "Metropolis" [6:45 mins.]
- excerpts from Geza von Bolvarys “Das Schloß in Flandern” with citations of "Metropolis" [11:53 mins.]
- the documentary "Journey to Metropolis" [52:39 mins.]

As far as I kow this will be a 3-disc set.

Anyone picked this up since it came out last week?

I'm hoping that, as it's from Warner, it'll be Region Free. I really don't want the US version with the redone English intertitles.

However it would be nice to have optional subtitles, my German might fail me here and there

If anyone can inform us of the subtitle situation, that would be great!!

Answered my own question, I found a review site which says it only has German subtitles
