Very hard to find a decent copy here for me too. Stock was even less than "The Town" IIRC. Maybe 20 copies total all at the front door rack. The copy I thought was perfect had 3 splotches of paint on the cover. Impossible to see with wrapper on and poor store lighting.

Man was it a pain to find one that wasn't damaged! I went to 3 different FS to find a couple that were in mint condition. The store at Kennedy had cut all the SB ;/ and the one at eglinton and laird did the same and they had a bunch dented!

looks pretty sweet; i liked the movie but not enough for a purchase

maybe if i saw it in stores id be too tempted not to pick it up; good thing i decided not to stroll through futureshop the other day

as for the remarks about shipping overseas i think Canadapost increased rates again; and as for surface i shipped my friend in greece a ps3 and it took around 4 months+ to get to him!

maybe longer, its been a few years; but i remember it was meant to be a going away/christmas present but ended up a birthday present (his bdays in july!)

I had to goto two differnt futureshops in vancouver and only ended up with two in mint condition.

There are so many copies of this steelbook with spine issue's,bad paint,ripped plastic,glue all over them.

I should goto surrey and other stores try and stock up on some good copies well I can.this steelbook will make good trading bait down the road

It sounds like they used the same thin steel like The Green Hornet

It is not thick or thin steel.

The main issue with THE MECHANIC SteelBook is because it is largely black, any dents or scratches or dents are clearly visible.

I went through 20 copies at my store on Day One to find 3 or 4 copies which I was happy with -- and I am not an overly picky person. I only ended up buying two copies (one for me and another for a forum member here).

To be specific, look carefully at all of the corners for ripped or torn shrinkwrap that sometimes has taken off some of the paint on the SteelBook.

Also check the back bottom of the SteelBook for scratches due to tearing.

I also came across some with scratches along the spine. This is clearly caused by someone opening the box with boxcutters and carelessly scratching the spines.
