Well, there were rumors regarding Funai's $300 player and Wal-Mart before. Now that the Funai part has come true, and with Penton's hints regarding major retailer exclusivity and Michael Bay kinda spilling the beans on Wal-Mart, maybe we can expect some news on that front?

I was going to start a new thread. But, I figured I would ask here first. Is their any rumors/rumblings that Universal might make an announcement at CES or is it just soon?

Thanks!

I'm guessing $299 for a 1.1 player is excellent.
Not to mention, a 1080p $299 player. We don't need no sinkeen 1080i "HD" wannabes!

Those rumors concerned Wal-Mart and Chinese manufacturer Fuh-Yuan.

I did not know that they were Emerson as well. Interesting when considered along with the retailler part of the equation. Emerson has a long standing relationship with Wal-Mart.

My Spidey Sense is tingling. Or is that my cel phone? Nope, the first one. Thanks for the retailler comments P-Man.

Great news! Thanks for the info! Inexpensive players can only help the cause!

Penton: Is it possible to get CJPlay here? It's not like he will run in trouble with WB exklusive and no Amir & Co posting at BD.com

Possibly soon, CES would be too easy if this all went down in the time frame that is put out there.
But you never know...

Did you mean Blu-ray.com? BD.com is the website of a medical technology company.

They don't officially post here, so no one would get him in any weird and (for Warner) uncomfortable situation.
It would simply be BD questions and answers.

Does that include or exclude the PS3?
