Finally my fave John Wayne western coming to blu ray! Walmart have it listed for $15.86. It would be nice if some behind the scenes stuff makes it onto this.

dvdbeaver review is up.
looks very nice!!
Paramount is on fire.
(even though Gary thinks it's from Warner for some reason)
so excited for classic westerns on blu-ray; what a month.
btw The Big Country Wal-Mart exclusive looks fantastic so everyone be sure to get your copies;
send a message that classic movies can make $ on blu-ray when done right)

LOL, that's funny - yeah, he lists it as Warner in the specs and then repeats it in the review. Wonder if he's wrong about the VC-1 video, Paramount almost always uses AVC. Well, either way those screencaps looks great, looking forward to next week, I have American Graffiti, Big Jake, A Man Called Horse, And Once Upon a Time in the West all coming my way.

Yeah but for every Big Jake we get from Paramount we get a Beverly Hills Cop quality release to go along with it...

My local Target has this on sale for $10 along with Rio Lobo, Once Upon A Time In The West and A Man Called Horse

I was very impressed with the picture quality for this $10 title I got at Target. The film isn't swimming in grain as many films lately have been and the picture is clear and concise. Great blacks, deep colors and after reading some of the reviews IMO surprisingly sharp. For me easily a 4/5 for PQ for a catalog title. Easily a newer master as well.

This title is definitely step up from True Grit, which I had issues with being the overly digital processed picture until they go in search of Ned Pepper and Tom Chaney at about chap. 5 where suddenly the picture gets stunning.
