You mean Lionsgate? If it's not an Echo Bridge release, it belongs to Lionsgate. I'll try to get around to updating these titles, it might take me a while.

Well, Lionsgate also passed on From Dusk Till Dawn but went all over Bridge Jones' Diary. Also, Mimic 3: Sentinel isn't listed on Lionsgate's site as well which is odd because they go for the first two but skip the third. Also, even though they got the rights to Kevin Smith's films that he did with Miramax, they also passed on Jersey Girl. I know it's not that great of a movie, it's Kevin Smith.

Entirely speculation but it wouldn't surprise me if titles were bundled together in some grouping during the bidding process more than LG passing on individual titles.

Sucks that Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Cursed, The Faculty, and Halloween 6 ended up at Echo Bridge...

All three were severely destroyed by Dimension Films and have much stronger Director's Cut versions, none of which have ever seen any release (and likely never will...).

My speculation would be on that decision is Echo Bridge is only issuing Blu-rays where they can acquire a cheap HD master. The first two Prophecy movies are older and a good, cheap HD transfer for them may not be available. They are not going to create new transfers for these budget discs. That costs too much money, their transfers are all licensed from extant masters.

As for Echo Bridge, they have done absolutely nothing but the bare minimum in releasing these Blu-rays. Their staff had little prior experience with Blu-ray and it appears they are not investing one extra dollar into the releases. Almost any other distributor would have been a better choice if quality is what you wanted.

I should correct it, it's like cropped and open matted. I found screenshots a few years ago of it online. The only copy of The Lookout that I have has it in OAR is the six film set.

Ah ok so if I understand clearly, there is no "open matted" version, both discs share the same "open matted + cropped" mix transfer. Is this right?

I already own the OAR transfer but was curious to see an "open matted" one.
I hate "cropped" transfer 'though so if it's a mix of both then I will pass.

In the early nineties, Miramax, before the Disney purchase in 1993, would partner with Live Entertainment on most of their theatrical releases; Madonna's Truth or Darebeing one of them. When the Disney deal happened, Live Entertainment retained all rights to the films they partnered with Miramax on.

If it's not a Miramax title, then why does it have the Miramax intro on the brand spankin' new HD master right now?
