Yeah, the original would've been OK, too, but ah well. We've got what we've got. Discs look awesome BTW.

I could only manage 10 pages of comments, it seems people are talking themselves into shelving out £70 "which seems reasonable" blah blah . Bloodyhell, I'll stick with my scaler & dvd copies till the price for the Saga is a more reasonable £40.

What was Alien anthology when it came out? 40quid,...its now £20.

Crystalio 2 VPS3800 Pro - Scaler & Media-Player ftw

Well £70 is quite resonable for a new release. They weren't saying it was cheap or that won't go any lower, but for something which is so popular and something that is as loaded as you can get, £70 isn't bad.

I think many of of us just supried at how low it was, especially when most were thinking along the lines of £90.

You can wait all you want, but tbh I think it'll be some time before it gets to £40, because the only reason the Alien Anthology is now £20 is because the packaging has been changed for cheaper Amaray cases.

We don't know what the complete set will be like yet, but I'm guessing they will be.

Hey, IMO, we're getting more of a bargin on this release than on the LotR EE set (yes LotR is cheaper, but nonetheless). I think it's a reasonable price to ask, I'm no Lucas basher, I just think he's a businessman at the end of the day. Bring on The Saga

I have to agree. I'd love to wait and get a cheaper price but the Original Trilogy was 44.99 RRP so we got that for about thirty quid on release day, so sixty plus pounds for twice as many films on a newer more expensive format seven years later isn't too expensive in the great scheme of things.

Also these discs are going to get a lot of play time so they do represent value for money, think of all the DVD's or Blu's you've only watched once and paid £15 for.

I think if I'm lucky this will be my 2nd most expensive purchase (the complete LOST DVD set was my most expensive at £69 (and it's still unopened)) and I want to get it in person day one. So I may have to pay a premium to do that.

They could have released all the films separately if they'd been greedy and that would have pushed the price up to around one hundred pounds.

I was expecting to pay far more than £70 for the Saga, somewhere at about £100+, so I'm really happy with the price tbh.

Shame Lucas isn't a better business man, if he restored the theatrical bits that were replaced by CGI and integrated them via seamless branching, he'd make a lot more money on this release. Got to spend money to make money.

Seemlessly branching the films would be nearly impossible with this case, especially with A New Hope, considering how much little stuff has changed. Bearing in mind that all the 'new' bits would need to be stored on the discs in addition to the whole 'old' film, you may as well just put them on two separate discs. And though I agree this is what he should have done, he's not gonna lose that many sales because not enough average buyers care, they will just want Star Wars on Blu-ray.

If there had been theatrical editions in the sets, it would have been day one purchase for me. As it stands I'll be waiting for a big drop in price to buy it, if at all.

Well, each to their own, at the end of the day. I'm sure it won't help with GL saying and I quote "...I’m making the movies, so I should have it my way", "Do you pay attention to the fans?": "Not really".... Full interview is over at http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/601138...ilogy-returns/

Well he did change his tone the last years, so you can't say the MSNBC interview reflects his opinion on the matter at this point.

You're right, he probably has. I don't hate him for what he thinks on the films either way. I love all of the Star Wars movies, and am glad to be getting it.

I don't think we'll get them but it would be cool to have a music score only audio track. John Williams is one of the best things about Star Wars and it would be nice to appreciate his work in HD.

John Williams is one of the best things about films period. Say what you want about the film itself, but he's a musical genius. And yeah, it would be great to have a score only track.

George Luca$ has been absorbed by greed, but what he needs to understand is that once a film is released and becomes hugely embraced, it's no longer just 'his' film, and to take that film away from people, alter it for the worse and not provide access to the original work that made his so successful is what has destroyed his reputation.

Both versions via seamless branching is perfectly easy to do. Do it, Luca$.
