Am I the only one who has a crapload of 2/3-disc cases where they keep both formats? I like to lend out my movies or sometimes put them on my ipod, so having the DVD is nice. I own about half my movies on blu-ray, but I generally only upgrade if I can get them for a few dollars or if it is a favorite movie. DVD isn't going anywhere since so many computers have DVD drives.

I think for some people on the forums are quite obsessive about upgrading and some are probably dangerously so if they don't have a high income.

I'm almost to the point where I have more blu-rays than I ever had DVDs but a lot of the DVDs I had still haven't been released to blu. So it's kind of hard to say how much I've actually upgraded (I sold pretty much everything on DVD that I had unless it wasn't available on netflix or held some sentimental significance).

Default Personal combo packs and obsession

I just discovered this idea a couple weeks ago, here on the boards. If I owned a Special Edition DVD and the Blu came out without extras, I'd have them both on the shelf. But now I've bought some 2-disc Blu replacement cases and put the DVD in there to make my own combo pack. (Storing the DVD case and art to sell when/if they put out a full-featured Blu, of course!)

I'm getting close but I have way too many DVD's and hate getting rid of anything. Once I decide to do that, I'll probably be well over 50%. Just don't want to get rid of all my beloved movies. My movies are like gold to me.

Not even close, and no intention on trying to replace every DVD I own with a blu-ray.
