Death Eternal Trailer

Death Lives Trailer

Overview
Death takes over from War as the lead character in the forthcoming Darksiders 2, publisher THQ has announced.
The sequel's story will run parallel with that of the acclaimed 2010 adventure, and sees Death embark on a quest to redeem his brother – the aforementioned War – and save mankind.
According to THQ's announcement, on his way he'll discover that an ancient grudge may represent an even greater threat to the future of the human race.
Due out some time in 2012 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, THQ is promising a "dramatically larger world", weapon and armour upgrade systems, bigger dungeons and a wealth of new enemies and bosses to take down.
"We have taken the best parts of Darksiders and improved on them with a host of new mechanics and features. You will see great things from this epic game," promised THQ core games chief Danny Bilson.

The first one was a great game. I would pick up a part 2.

Agreed. Darksiders was probably the best game released lats year that no one bought. Easily my most (pleasantly) surprising purchase of 2010.

Darksiders 2 announced
Quote:
THQ has today confirmed its plan to release a sequel to the hit post-Apocalyptic action/adventure, Darksiders.
Yes folks, Darksiders 2 is coming, and this time, you'll take on the role of "Death," one of the dread Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a weaving adventure that runs parallel to the events of the original game.

"This epic journey propels 'Death' through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksider," reads the press release. "Featuring a dramatically larger world, full weapon and armor upgrade systems as well as bigger and more challenging dungeons and vast array of new enemies and bosses, Darksiders II strives to improve on every aspect of the original hit."

Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President of Core Games, commented: “We have taken the best parts of Darksiders and improved on them with a host of new mechanics and features. You will see great things from this epic game.”

Earlier this week, Bilson tweeted that a big reveal about the sequel is coming soon. Darksiders 2 is slated to arrive on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2012. Expect more info about the game at E3 next week.

I really hope so. And, I hope it's not the original concept for a sequel, with you playing during the events of the first game.

Sounds great although I'm worried about the "more challenging" part since I really struggled with the first one and at times didn't think I'd be able to complete it. So, I'm not sure I like the sound of that part but everything else sounds good to me.

Go play all God of War games on hard or very hard, then go back to Darksiders. It will be walk in the park. I played DS first, then I got the GoW collection. I beat 1 on very hard, beat 2 on hard, then got GoW 3, beat it on normal, then very hard. I just recently went back to DS and tried it on very hard and I was amazed at how much easier it was than my first playthrough on normal.

In my experience both games are just about knowing how to approach killing each enemy type, they all have weaknesses that if exploited make it cake

Loved the first game, thought it was like a Zelda and Soul Reaver love child. Can't wait for this.

So I stumbled upon the original Darksiders today in the clearance bin for $12.97 new. I couldn't pass it up especially after reading the article in my Gameinformer aboot the sequel. I never played the first one except for the Demo, so I'm gonna run through it & see how it is. Either way for $13 I can't lose!!

You can't go wrong with Darksiders. Amazing game. Totally underappreciated.

I think War looks cooler than Death, but I will be picking this game up.

Its like a Zelda and God of War love child. I thorougly enjoyed it. Some of the puzzles/platforming are tough. The graphics wont blow you away, but they are far from bad and the art style is amazing.

Yeah, I remember the Demo some what & thought it was cool. I just never got around to picking up the full game. It received a 82 on Metacritic & a 8.5 from GameInofmer. So, I'm sure I'll enjoy it!
