The most interesting thing about Part 2 is that the art direction seems made sure that every set piece had some sort of phallic or gay element to it.

Case in point: Jesse's family Kitchen has a ornament of a giant copper rooster.
Most people don't notice that one *little* tidbit.

Admittedly, this is what I would prefer. A box set of all the films should have been released when Warner put out the original to tie in with the remake's release, since that seemed most likely that we'd see the whole series. With this, it still seems up in the air that the remaining sequels will get a release (if this doesn't do well, then we shouldn't expect the remaining ones, which is a shame, since I'd love to see New Nightmare get a Blu release).

I was quite certain New Line/Warner were going to release the sequels as double-features. I would prefer standalone releases, but I knew it wouldn't be cost justifiable to release them as such.

I don't mind double-features (don't own any, but I hear they aren't bad when done right), but with NOES, the sequels I love (and the ones I'm putting the money for) are paired-up with the ones I like the most :P (Freddy's Revenge with Dream Warriors, the latter being the one I love and Freddy's Dead with New Nightmare, the latter being my favorite sequel of the seven).

Definitely won't keep me from buying, but I do hope they include some special features. Would be great if they'd announced all of them at once, but I suppose they're waiting to cash-in more releasing them two at a time.

Why not? The only difference will be having 1 case on your shelf instead of 2.

It will be cheaper than buying 2 separate releases. It will be on a BD-50, so the picture/sound would be identical to any individual discs they could have released.

I refuse to buy any of the Elm Street films (with the exception of the remake) until they do it right and release a set. This release is unacceptable!

The only Nightmare movies I like are 1 and 3, but since Warner seems to be giving Dream Warriors a piss-poor treatment on Blu, I don't see the point in upgrading from my DVD boxset.

On another (unrelated) note, my 1,000th post!

Freddy's Revenge is indeed one of the "gayest" movies I've seen but it has some good qualities, namely Kevin Yagher's make-up effects and Chistopher Young's music score. I also think it has one of the best nightmare sequences of the whole series, the opening with the school bus.

Yeah, well true fans of this series and people who grew up watching this series want a complete set and will not buy these crappy double features.

I would expect the European releases of these double feature sets to be split up as separate titles as has been done in the past. If those haven't been announced yet it is probably just around the corner.

The 1080p HD versions that play on HDNet Movies look great, so I assume they are using those transfers. If this is only 13.99 I'll bite. Even if its not a box set, I'll take what I can get as long as they are not outrageously priced.

I hate to be like this but I'm really just glad WB is releasing these sequels at all. Paramount released the first 3 Friday the 13th films 3 years ago and the rest of the series is no where to be found.

If these sell well maybe they will see that there is a want for this type of horror still and they will Green light some new sequels or it may get Paramount to release the rest of the Friday series... Ya never know.

As long as they don't try to fit both movies onto one disc, I am happy.

They will. It'll be a 1 disc BD50. 25gb for each film. There will probably be no special features except for a theatrical trailer for each film, if that. I'm definately passing on this crappy release.
