Eh, that's racing stuff, I only know movie trivia.

And then, of course, the inevitable posting of YouTube ephemera--

Oh WOW!

Thanks for posting that Eric.

As you are well aware back in late 70's, THAT LP was our closest thing to a VHS/DVD/BD since not only had some of those not existed back then, but VHS tapes of that movie were either poor quality bootlegs or very expensive, and being so, I must have played that record well over 100 times easy.

"Darth Vader a figure who moves forever in a cloud of awesome evil."

"Luke follows Ben into a murky smoke filled den serving an incredible array of weird and exotic aliens, monsters and disreputable humans.
One eyed, thousand eyed, slimy, furry, scaly tentacles and claws are huddled over drinks."

And if they would ever release that on a CD, I would purchase it in a heartbeat.

Maybe that could make it onto one of the BDs as an extra.

I don't mean to jump way off topic but does anyone know a site that shows the Robot Chicken Star Wars trilogy spoofs? I still have yet to check those out but hear they're funny.

WTF? Remaking them does not make any sense... I think we can all agree on that. I think the movies all match and compliment each other perfectly. From writing to casting, scoring, editing and so on. Itīs like saying Yang doesnīt match to the Yin because itīs not black.

Why would anyone want to remake Star Wars in general at this moment... it just does not make any sense!

Because they don't match in style, pacing, look or feel....because the special effects pale in comparison. Because the OT is supposed to take place after the PT but you can see just how more advanced the technology looks in the Prequels...and the more he hacks, changes and cuts the worse these masterpieces become. I say leave the OT alone and just reshoot the entire OT so it will match in every aspect down to the bad acting.....PT Fanboys will get what they want an effects laden trilogy to match what they love. Then Lucas can release the UOT to all us old folks as some sort of "Golden Classics" edition.

I think a CG remake in the clone wars style would be a pretty cool companion to the existing 6 movies. They could use the existing audio for all six films and then animate the entire thing.

That hasnt stopped the film industry from remaking/rebooting several other films and series'. Superman is being redone. Fockers. Spiderman is being redone. Nightmare on Elm Street was redone. All for NO reason whatsoever.

The beauty of Star Wars is that George OWNS and controls ALL the content so he can tell the remake-weenies to screw off if they even suggest such a thing.

I agree with some of this but thats why I LIKE some of the additions to the OT that center around effects updates and scene clean-ups. It gives the OT more of the same kind of feel as the PT and it accomplishes that to some extent. Now, Han shot first...we know that. I also hate the new ROTJ Jabba Palace song like everyone else. Overall though, the added CGI does make the OT look a little more like the PT.

Couldn't agree less. As Shelldweller noted, they are like Yin and Yang.
Let's see what the BDs bring us.

Ying and Yang? What does that even mean? One trilogy is good and the other is bad? Not sure I grasp your analogy. One set of films is dated, looks dated even with the upgraded effects and one set looks like it was shot yesterday. There is not even any room for debate on that issue.

I'd rather have a reboot from a completely different producer/director. I don't think Lucas has any talent left. He turned from a struggling director and visionary to a commercial hack. Just my opinion.

He hasnt had any talent since 83. I mean TMP had some moments in 99 but really whats he done as a filmmaker other than Star Wars since 1988? He is like a mad scientist in a lab just cutting and adding to the same three films...and then every 5 to 10 years he gives us a new version in a new format.
