What?! Subwoofers from Monoprice? Yes. Subwoofers from Monoprice. Monoprice has jumped into the subwoofer market and home theater speaker market recently with a 5.1 speaker package, an 8" subwoofer, and a 12" 200-Watt subwoofer. Besides these subwoofers, they also have 8" and 10" in-wall subwoofers in regular and open box design models. Most interestingly, they also offer a dual 12" car subwoofer which interestingly enough costs about $20 less than their 12" home theater subwoofer. I would have started this thread earlier but until the home theater subwoofers became enlisted in Monoprice's inventory did I decide a new thread would be appropriate.

I wonder how good they will be considering that their in wall speakers are very popular and well regarded considering the price. I would be interested in a cheap 8" sub to hook up to a TV with a sub out connection

It's $20 more for the 12" subwoofer, which would have a much better amplifier and significantly more cone area. At those prices, the 12" is a no-brainer.

I am not surprised with this & I bet once the word gets out it will take off. Also wouldn't be surprised to start seeing other things as well.

I just got a big box from Monoprice today as a matter of fact

This does look like a nice quality,sturdy sub box for a car or SUV and you can use banana plugs. But shipping is $37.00. So for just over a $100.00 I would give this a shot, if I needed a New sub.

Update:

After numerous delays, the product is finally shipping as of yesterday. Here is a picture:

Keep in mind this is a 12" subwoofer with extension down into the 30's (if not mid 20's with room gain), a beautiful finish, bowed sides, a 150 watt amp. All for $84.

I'm sure someone is going to get it before me I wanted to ask I wonder if you could upgrade the sub to something a bit better if it's not up to par.

I wished they offered it in something other then wood colour but maybe down the road?

Well, they do have a 8 inch 60 watt sub in black. Also, I noticed the connection in the back. I doesn't have the connection to the receiver or am I missing something:

talking about the Line in? I noticed that myself I wonder how that would work out since most receivers have a single RCA for the subwoofer.
