The issue seems to be that parts of the original recording was done on tape to keep costs down (it a very low budget movie), and that the quality of the film on the original media (both audio and video) would not make a big difference on blu-ray vs DVD...

Well, I'm sure a Blu-ray would be an improvement if they spent money on it.

The versions around now (from MGM and Village Roadshow) have pretty nice transfers and a good load of extras and widely available.

I'd like a Blu-ray myself but I'm in no rush and there's many more films out there I'd like to see released.

This is a very cool flick and some of the scenes showing the outback would be phenomenal on BD.

I own this on DVD and would happily double dip on this one.

I am so excited by this release! I do wish they'd use the same cover (and very nice slipcover) from the last DVD release. Regardless, this is a Day 1 purchase for me.

Just pre-ordered at Foxconnect.com for $11.69!

Just give them an email address & sign up for their newsletter for a one use coupon code for a 10% discount on their price of $12.99 and free UPS shipping. I used them for the first time with The Comancheros and they delivered it on release day, so I'm using them for all my Fox releases now. Now I can throw out that wretched non-anamorphic DVD.

(One use coupon code, but I have many email addresses )

Did someone receive the US version yet? Confirmation of pecs (AQ/PQ, subtitles, region locked/free) would be appreciate.

I really want this one, but it is not in the Dutch releaselist yet. And the surrounding countries (France, Italy, Germany) have translated titles on the cover. Which is lame.

Well, I noticed after I posted in the thread that the OP has the Union Jack icon, indicating the UK release. At any rate, Foxconnect shipped my copy last Friday so I should have it in hand today or tomorrow and will start a thread and post specs if no one else has.

Thanks. Please check the disc itself. I've found a scan of the back cover, but I doubt it is correct.
