Erm... the titles are missing from the discs! The US states "Superman: the movie (theatrical)" etc on the discs, but the UKs don't...

Hahah, you're right

There's an unboxing video for the US set in the North American thread for Superman. Apart from the outer box, the digipak looks pretty much the same.

I use to use those slipcovers to make the insert for the dvd that comes in the 2 disc sets so my mom could have a case with a picture and movie title on it

^ You know you can edit posts to add in extra info rather than posting multiple times in a row?

Digipak. They've been around for a long time. It's called a Digipak because it's.... a Digipak. That's the trademarked name.

Ah cool...it is a specific style..good to know...Hey i had a question what do you folks do with those pieces of paper that are poorly glued to the back of your boxset with all the info...they never stay on and i'm sure this will have one...btw what's with a 2.0 track on superman 4 would have thought they would glam it up a bit...just rather odd that they left it like that....

Its a trademark, no different to steelbook, maybe we should retire that too and just call them metal box things

Interesting observation, though it does look like the titles are listed in small text around the rim of each disc.

It's standard practice for most discs put out in Europe by major Studios - Warners, Universal and probably a few others don't tend to put titles on discs, just disc art. It's so they can manufacture a single batch and distribute them all over Europe without any language difficulties. Other only the outer cases are country specific.

I'm not really surprised that we've had a slipcase rather than the elaborate US box. It's a little disappointing though.

On the Digipak front Digipak's for DVD's were called DVDigipak's but they haven't coined the term BDigipak's yet. It doesn't exactly roll of the tounge does it?

And Steelbooks is a brandname for a company with offices in Denmark, Canada and Hong Kong.
